Write Fox News and Stop Geraldo!
Fox News ^ | May 19, 2003 | Geraldo Rivera

RICHMOND, Calif. — Law enforcement agencies continued searching the San Francisco Bay Sunday because prosecutors are "desperate" to find more evidence in support of their theory that Scott Peterson (search) killed his wife Laci, a source close to the investigation has told Fox News.

I'm basing on my opinion on two concurrent "happenings," if you will:

Geraldo gets back from Iraq/Kuwait

and

Geragos takes over the Peterson case.

Almost immediately we have the rumors of other 'suspects,' 'Satanic rituals,' etc.

Laci's mom said she never heard one cross word from Scott towards Laci.

I'm pretty sure Sharon Rocha has changed her opinion of Scott Peterson. And she knows what the police have.

I think Scott's conduct has been opprobrious to say the least, but I would hope that something other than the single hair and the circumstantial evidence is brought forward during discovery and at the trial. As someone has pointed out already, OJ was a slam dunk.

As for FoxNews, yeah, they can go a bit overboard at times, but it sort of makes up for Dan Rather.

I have already yelled at FOX twice. The point I made the second time was that FOX had interviewed 3 policemen (now 4), and all of them have said the same thing. The fact the boat is still out on the bay IS NOT AN INDICATION that the police LACK EVIDENCE.

San Francisco Bay is very treacherous. You have to have a good sized boat to even survive on its waters. If people will just pay attention to the appearance of the water, they will notice that it primarily contains white caps - that is an indication of strong winds. Those winds also cause strong undercurrents from the inflow and outflow of the water in the bay. SF bay is not the greatest place to go diving - it's not safe. And ... because the waters are so churched up all the time, you can barely see underwater. The fact the police have waited until the waters are calmer is NOTHING - it's a NON-ISSUE. It's just common sense to wait until the water is not as churched up.

It is also my understanding the divers are all volunteers - which means they may not always be available at the drop of a hat - just to LOOK - when there is no apparent emergency.

Remember, no judge (at least 99.9% of them) would sign search warrants and/or arrest warrants without some sort of justified proof of their necessity. This just would not happen. The police HAD TO HAVE ENOUGH TO SATISFY THE JUDGE.

And ... this latest police guy just said "there is no hard evidence against Scott". HOW DOES HE KNOW THIS? Unless the Modesto police told him, he would have no way of knowing this.

Every single police person FOX has interviewed has made the same statement. However, the FOX news people and Geraldo have continued to play this angle. I'm sick of it.

I don't know if Scott did it, but the fact he was in the very area where she was found is really very powerful evidence against him (although it is circumstantial).

Scott's actions alone, even with a living wife, beg for someone to smack him upside the head.

I click my trusty remote every time I see him!
The last time I watched him was the day he drew that map in the sand, with commentary.
Roger has sure made a mistake hiring this turkey/clymer!!!

Jeez, and I thought I was the only one. Personally, I was sick of hearing about "Laci" and her unborn child before the friggin' war.

After the war, and the arrest of Peterson, I made a snide comment about how all the publicity was tainting the jury
pool, and all threads about the subject should cease, in the interest of fairness and justice.

I got a terse response "then don't read..." and I responded with a Blatherism on how hard it is not to click on a "Laci" thread.

I was willing even to watch part of Greta until she started up with this "Laci" feces again.

Geraldo is a disgrace to FNC. Now he's pimping for the defense? Pound the law and/or pound the facts.

FOX will lose viewers if they keep hypeing this case, I personally have had enough of the Laci Peterson story and anythime they start talking about it I switch channels. It's a boring case if you ask me.

My husband and I originally thought Scott Peterson was guilty of murdering Laci and Connor. However, some matters now bother us - (1) There have been some other pregnant women in that area who disappeared, (2) Laci's dog being found wandering around the neighborhood with his leash still attached, (3) The removal of some of Laci's body parts, and (4) The lack of really concrete evidence against Scott.

I believe that the attention focused on this case is because Laci and Scott are two very attractive people. And Connor is raising some very important issues regarding abortion.

you better yell at Gloria Allred, Mark Fuhrman, the detective in DC, Dominick Dunne, and all the rest of the hanger-ons that are all quickly jumping into this case.

KFI640 just said that Fox reported that the blood in the truck was Scotts, and there was no blood or vomit found on the mop (as reported in the tabloids) Hence, the search in the bay (which as MSNBC reported earlier, was a favored spot for dumping stoves, cars, refrigerators in the 50s-60s) and most divers doubt anything will be found.

Scott Peterson not only murdered his wife, he got me to watch MSNBC and CNN.

Me too!!!!!!!! Every time I hear the words Laci Peterson or Scott Peterson I hit the remote. It's a terrible shame that the poor girl was murdered the way she was, but geez...this is a local story for Modesto CA. I'm sick to death of hearing about it.
