May 23, 2003 -- Residents of a Bronx building are outraged after getting an unexpected morning "greeting" yesterday from a police drug squad, which burst into their homes, waved guns at children and then left after finding nothing. "At 7:50 a.m., they burst down the door to the building," said Joe Celcis, a teacher whose mother and sister live in the home.

My problem is, today it's OK to do it for all drug busts, tomorrow it may be for parking tickets or failure to appear.

Funny you should mention that...

They shot three dogs, two fatally, when they went to serve warrant in Allentown for unpaid parking tickets.

Mistakes happen and I think, from the evidence presented, that the police acted ethicaly and professionaly. I think everyone should take responsibility for their actions and the government is no exception.

There's no 2A without the 4A (too dangerous for the cops), and there's no 1A without the 2A (too dangerous for the speaker/writer/poster). This judge needs to be removed and the cops humbled.

all rights not given to the government are reserved to the people.

Yeah, No kidding. I'm sick of the USDA inpecting my meat for me. What gives them the right? It's not in the Constitution. It's my right to inpect my own meat.

The cops were looking for two handguns, a pile of marijuana and evidence of a pot-selling operation.

Tell me, is looking for that demon weed and two handguns enough of a reason to point guns in 12 year-olds faces and bust down the doors of the wrong place. I hope these pricks are fired at the very least. It's bad enough I have to fear terrorists, now I have to fear the people supposed to protect me as well.

"If someone "bursts" in my door at this time of day I am wide awake, preparing to leave for work and armed. Cops would have been GD surprised. "

While I agree this is the appropriate response to JBT assaults, you would have ended up dead as well as everyone else in the house. Including the dog(if applicable).

As G. Gordon Liddy once said, "They've got a big target on there, ATF*. Don't shoot at that because they've got a vest on underneath that. Head shot, head shots."

*SWAT, POLICE, FBI, etc.....

>>>>Sounds like these civilians will get mucho dinero.

As long as the 'civilians' keep paying their property taxes on a timely basis it makes no difference to the city how much dinero is paid I guess.

It's only when things get seriously tight cashwise, ala the Michael Jackson story today, that bureaucrats might notice and become uncomfortable with illegal policies!

It appears Mayor Bumberg, like our Kali Gov Grey Dufus, doesn't see small cash flow shortfalls as a major problem and will maintain the same policies until they are relieved of their job.

The recall should do the trick here in Kali! Looks like NYC is 'screwed'?

I personally don't care what you do with your own meat!

Informed consumers could always buy their products that were inspected by a private rating company. Trust the market place.

The WOD is really just a war on free enterprise, designed to do nothing more than keep government workers busy, all under the sham of, it's all for the children!

No one was shot and killed, and no one was pistol-whipped. Not even one GD dog was kicked! Sounds like these civilians got off easy; no one got hurt. It pays to keep your nose clean.

Might I suggest that YOU PUT YOUR HEAD ON A PIKE and think about what happened and what the 12 year old will deal with for many years to come?

Your stupid comment makes Me deduce that YOU ARE JUST ONE MORE JACK BOOTED THUG!

I'll await your excuse/answer...

Regardless if the CFR for the most part is unconstitutional, it's businesses cutting costs in safety and health resulting in deaths and illnesses as well as monopolies and unreasonably high prices that spurred most of these regulations to begin with.

The FCC for example, is totally unconstitutional. Though I think the FCC is a good idea, congress should not abuse the power given to them by the Constitution and should follow the amendment process to make these laws(regulations).
