Got a good reason for someone to have a cache of screen names signed up months or years ago?

Or a good reason for someone to be pretending to be many people? Not just on this thread, but on others in the past?

I see much has happened here since I was bumped to this thread by TGS or by one of his alter egos. I was surprised to learn that he was the same individual as the oldtimer CAR. Though I can understand why he would want to change his name to reflect new interests in a new era, I can't excuse his keeping a secret cache of aliases to pretend to be several different people on the same thread. Still, I'll miss his posts and I hope he'll be allowed back before too long.
