David Robinson is class all the way and so glad to see him go out on top!I am too. Steve Smith, who I don't even recall seeing on the floor in the Nets series, is another classy guy. He donated several million to Michigan State in the name of his mother who had passed away. He is another Spur, likely to retire, who I am glad to see got a ring.

I am glad you brought that up! The Spurs organization from top to bottom probably has the most class in the league. They are a group of really good guys! The Admiral will be missed!

Indeed. Of course, I cheered against Robinson when he played the Lakers, just like I alway wanted the Rams to snuff Roger Staubach. They, however, have my utmost respect as men of character. Those two, unlike most jocks, should be role models for boys becoming men. I couldn't be happier for Robinson leaving the game as a champion.

8 months? Nope. We got the draft up late this month. I THINK arena football is still on. College football in 2 1/2 months, same with NFL, and the Wings are up in 3 months.

Especially since the NHL's labor agreement is up in 04. It's likely our last shot before the Canuck teams push to tax everything and cause a strike.
Never cared for Gary Bettman. We'll see if a strike can be avoided here.

Good luck. A friend of mine had a good shot at it, but he blew his knee out and wasn't the same. He played for Omaha(Jr A?), then Windsor Spitfires, Plymouth Whalers, and Kitchner.

....but you are completely wrong about the finals. You missed an extraordinary game tonight. Neilsen ratings just in for the finals --- the lowest ratings in 27 years.

Since when are Neilsen ratings indicators of the quality of programming? They have yet to peg decent shows. Springer's shows and voyeur TV always drew high numbers so there you go. Quality over quantity wins every time in this house.

Quality over quantity wins every time Oh I agree. ...But I've watched the NBA finals every year since the Knicks beat the Lakers in 1970, and this year's was far and away the worst one quality-wise I've ever seen. And that view appears to be the overwhelming consensus among knowledgeable basketball fans.

---the lowest ratings in 27 years. I'm not at all surprised.......
The series was void of any passion or soul.
I can see how a Spurs fan might view the series differently, but, when evaluated with an objective, unbiased point of view, this year's Finals was, in a word, dismal.

Those of us who are proud to be long-time Spurs fans are biased. There was passion for us, seeing the Admiral in his last series. It's hard to see how someone who posts on a news forum might imagine himself to be more knowledgeable than those who voted for the Coach of the Year, League MVP and Finals MVP. Rock on.

It's hard to see how someone who posts on a news forum might imagine himself to be more knowledgeable than those who voted for the Coach of the Year, League MVP and Finals MVP. That sentence makes exactly NO sense. Neither of us said that the Spurs aren't a good team, or that Tim Duncan isn't deserving of the MVP award. (They are, and he is). According to your skewed "logic," recognizing the skills and accomplishments of the Spurs and thinking that the series itself was poorly played and boring are mutually exclusive. Obviously, to anyone with more than a double-digit IQ, they're not.

No need to get snippy. ;) What we have here may be a failure to communicate. You said there was no quality in the series, yet the league voted them the best reps of the sport this year, didn't they?
