Catholic man says prayers for soldiers should end

I of course do not agree, as a Jew. The Jewish religion teaches you that if someone is coming to kill you, you kill him first. There is a difference between murder and killing. In the Torah, it states "Thou shall not MURDER" not "Kill" as the Christian bible states. Nevertheless, I believe we should pray for the soldiers no matter what you believe, as without them, you would not be allowed to practice your religion.

Aside from that, this conflict does in many ways fit the Just War Doctrine, no matter how much the liberal cardinals didn't want it to.

The Christian Gospel and the Catechism of the Catholic Church both teach that we should pray for our enemies even when they are sinning against us.

If we are commanded to pray for the souls of our enemies, how much more should we pray as well for our own soldiers, whether we agree with them or not.

Actually, the Christian bible says "thou shalt not commit murder', too, though some helpful soul (/sarcasm) translated "commit murder" to "kill".

Jesus also said, paraphrased: "For each of you who does not own a sword sell your cloak and buy one."

Neither God nor his son has ever meant for us not to defend ourselves. When someone says "What about turning the other cheek?" remember that the count stops at two cheeks. (or four, if you insist.)

It's easy for him to say that when he is free to be an idiot without being thrown in jail. I'd like him to live under a murderous regime such as Saddam's or Mugabe's and see if within a few days he wouldn't start praying for the US or the devil himself to come free him from his bondage. There are fewer things more repulsive than a free people denying the need of freedom to others.
