Oh good one! I haven't heard that one before.

You KNOW that it's not possible to be a conservative though with such a dirty mouth! /sarcasm I'm not sure if he is a conservative or not, but from what I've seen and heard from him, I wouldn't be surprised at all if he voted for Bush. He also had an obvious dislike for the Clintons in a couple of his songs. Any idea if he was pro-war in Iraq?

I don't think he cared to express an opinion.  I could be mistaken, but I vaguely remember him saying something like his opinions on world affairs are not part of what he is meant to provide the public.  I did find an interesting quote from Marilyn Manson about Eminem in my searching, however:  http://www.nyrock.com/worldbeat/09_2000/092000.asp

On Eminem:
"The fact is if someone like him has the balls to do what they do, it helps all of us. And what people need to look at is not whether you agree or disagree with his opinions, but the fact that he's allowed to have his opinions is important for everyone."

And even as much as I despise Marilyn Manson, I do agree with that statement.

Utilizing Marilyn Manson who while arguably intelligent and possessing an acute PT Barnum cleverness in defense of Eminem is a bit of a stretch for an alleged Conservative forum.

LOL -- I've seen poorly constructed arguments at FR, but this is one beaut.

And BTW -- "alleged Conservative forum"?? :-D

Eminem has hit back by ridiculing Ja for being short.
Well, sounds like a legit reason on the street to kill someone....

Maybe Ja didn't KNOW he was short. The bad news may be pushing him over the edge.

Perhaps.  Isn't he a Republican, though?

But back to the topic... Ja has branded Eminem's mother a "crackhead" and Eminem has hit back by ridiculing Ja for being short.

Misleading, at best.  What has actually been said was:

The Oscar-winner freestyles with ally 50 Cent on the new mixtape track, telling Ja Rule, "You ain't a killer, you a pu**y".

Four times platinum album seller 50 Cent joins Shady on the mixtape by appearing to insinuate Ja Rule is a closet homosexual

Ja Rule recently responded to the tracks on the Murder Inc mixtape 'A Warrior's Words' , warning Eminem "I'm huntin' ya blondie/ With a sawed gauge".

...Ja Rule's lines, "Em, you claim your mother's a crackhead/ And Kim's a known slut/ So what Haile's gonna be when she grows up?".

http://www.nme.com/news/104774.htm

Saying that a rap artist that is on a label called Murder, Inc "ain't a killer" could lead him to wish to prove he is.  Street cred, and all.

I listen to everything from Barry Manilow to Ice T's "Body Count" album.  People like the fashions they like and the music they like. That does NOT reflect on them.

Their ACTIONS reflect on `em.

Exactly. I saw Neil Diamond in concert when in HS, great show.  A recent item on Barry Manilow, btw: http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/arizonaliving/articles/0606people0606.html

Manilow's big break

Singer-songwriter Barry Manilow recently woke up disoriented in the middle of the night, walked into a wall and broke his nose, knocking himself unconscious.

Manilow, who did not say when the incident occurred, was passed out for four hours, Reuters reports. The 56-year-old entertainer was not seriously hurt, although his famously prodigious schnoz is swollen.

Cheap-joke alert: There's no word on how far from the wall he was when the accident happened.

"quasi-conservative" would admittedly been a better choice of words.

I think he claims to have voted as such.

I'm a far right culture conservative who only supports Pubbies as a slower path to destruction....and besides...folks who think precisely like me cannot get elected to national office....hence...being a Pubbie is not all it's cracked up to be for me but my pragmatic side (yes I have one) understands the realities.

There are a fair number of us left here but the new conservatives for whom the culture war has become an anchronism have become the vanguard here since 9-11. They have replaced our old sparring partners...The Randian-Objectivist gang.

Wasn't Murder, Inc. being investigated for something recently? I can't remember what it was though.

Murder Inc. In Trouble
Posted By Evocator Manes on 05.15.03

A convicted crack kingpin delivered cash from illegal drugs to the Manhattan headquarters of rap label Murder Inc. as part of an elaborate money-laundering scheme tied to the company's first movie project, Crime Partners, according to a federal complaint filed Monday.

Kenneth "Supreme" McGriff, who Eminem lampoons on one of his cuts, as Kenneth Kniff, from Conneticut.

...a slower path to destruction...

That's exactly what I've been thinking of late.  I see the Republicans becoming more Rat-like, to absorb those that might be inclined to vote Rat, with the exception of the far left.  I see the real solution is to encourage that happening, then after the Democrat Party is marginalized, to replace it with something like The States' Rights Party or The States Liberty Party.  Considering history, this is appropriate, as the Republican Party began as the federal party, with the Democrats being the states rights opposition.  A part of this is to force the ultra left wing to acknowledge who they really are, and become The Socialist Party.

As to the culture war.  We have to promote the culture we believe in and give our youth reasons to believe.  Both of my teenage sons have long despised the Clintons and what they brought to our land.  I have often told them that they are the generation that will save our country.  I think they believe me, but the point is, it helps them urgently desire to be men, real men, not what has come to pass for manhood in our current "culture".  The success of that fellow in MN in signing up 3000 new College Republicans gives me hope.
