President Bush urged Israel Tuesday to consider the consequences of its actions on the peace process. Standing next to Bush, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said he wanted to move ahead but defended Israel's building of a security fence and insisted anew that all terrorism by Palestinians must stop.

Bush ought to listen to Sharon on the fence thing. Fences make for good neighbors, and we need one (or maybe two).

My commitment to the security Israel is unshakable."

Now, you can't empower the terrorists who want to destroy Israel, and at the same time make this statement.

Being against the fence is a totally irrational response that, unfortunetly, I am sure a lot of people feel. It it totally logical and rational to build the fence. I'm all for it.

I don't think it matters whether GWB listens to Sharon or not. The fence IS going ahead as planned. That is a good thing of Israel.

I'm not sure there is really any such thing as a "peace process" if it involves the "Palestinians."

The fence makes perfect sense to me. I wonder if GW is just giving "lip service" that sounds like he has objections to it.

Builders work on the Jewish settlement outpost Maale Haroe near the West Bank city of Nablus, July 28, 2003, despite the government ban on such construction. Given the consequences of having let themselves be sat on by the US for decades and suffering so badly during these wonderful times of peace, perhaps Israel should consider trying a different approach.

Construction workers build an addition to the outpost of Haroe at the Jewish settlement of Eli between the West Bank towns of Ramallah and Nablus Monday, July 28, 2003. Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon is in the United States to discuss the road map for peace which calls for, among other stipulations, a complete freeze on construction in Jewish settlements in the West Bank and Gaza and a dismantling of all the outposts erected throughout the West Bank since 2001. Construction workers build a security fence dividing farmland of the Palestinian town of Beit Sahur, bottom, from the Jewish settlement of Har Homa, background, Tuesday July 22, 2003. Within days, Israel's year-old fence, trench, and wall project to try and keep Palestinian suicide bombers from crossing its frontiers, will completely divide Jerusalem's southern and northern outskirts from the West Bank, slicing through Palestinian backyards and farmlands and cutting off some outlying hamlets from the city. The view that Israel shouldn't build a fence is ludicrous.

We are rounding up terrorists in Iraq, going house to house in search of those killing our soldiers ... but Israel can't even build a fence?

I hope these words of Bush are just that... words. But words have consequences also.

"Bush warns Israelis about dangers to peace process; consider the consequences of its actions"

Israel's actions? Bush must be referring to when Israel barbecues innocent Palestinians for picnics or when they harvest hearts from involuntary Palestinian donors.

Otherwise, WTF is he referring to?

What is Israel doing, or would be doing, that has negative "consequences of its actions on the peace process"?

Catching terrorist, building fences to separate from the barbarians, not wanting to release murderers, trying to live peacefully in the ancient Jewish homeland?

Tell me Mr. Bush, what evil that will have negative consequence on peace are the Israelis doing.

Want to know what the peaceful Palestinians are doing. They are continuing to kill, to harm and to plan mayhem..

No argument for me about it being good for Israel. I only wish GWB would see from their example that it would be good for US to secure our own borders.

I'd rather see the headline turned on its head: Israelis warn Bush about dangers of "peace process"; consider the consequences of his actions
