It posted OK. I've never seen that happen before, guess they don't want their images posted elsewhere.

Well, if you can keep the Muleshoe jokes to a minimum...

Thank you very much...I knew that watching Hee-haw would pay off one day...

Could we get Barbie with tracklines in her arm too? Or maybe a Ken doll with his own computer and downloadable porn?

They're waiting for marketing results on this product, first.

What are parents thinking, buying this stuff for little girls?

Those of you without little girls may not realize that Barbie is really NICE. She has three little sisters, and takes them on camping trips and to ballet lessons, and reads them stories ... this whole thing makes me very sad about the lives adults seem to want for girls.

There are plenty of accomplished black men and women who would be great inspirations to children. However, they are conservative, and therefore don't exist in certain eyes. It is a real shame. The same goes for Hispanics and Asians.

However, take away that tumbleweed on her head...She appears to be a little on the cute side...

I remember, as a kid, watching Saturday morning 'toons and seeing Barbie commercials. Barbie was depicted as an astronaut, a doctor, a veterinarian, etc. Now, it seems that they are presenting Barbie as a 'ho, regardless of race.

What with all the gay crap flooding the media lately, I shudder to think what they'll do with G.I. Joe.

As a black woman, I'm going to say this is completely insulting and degrading. We do not need our next generation venerating or in form celebrating "hip hop." Not my children certainly . . . when and if I ever have any.

Well, I'm not a black woman but I am a woman, a mother, and a grandmother, and like you I find these new dolls insulting, demeaning and degrading to women and girls of any color. Ye cats and little kittens! Where is the NOW gang on this? Where is the NAACP?

[Sigh] I must be getting old. Who else remembers when Barbi was just "a doll" (not a theme/advertisement like "McDonald's Barbi" or "NASCAR Barbi") who had the most fabulous wardrobe imaginable? Who - at least in my mind - was the very height of chic and style.

You have to understand that being conservative and black is still not a common occurence...I state I am moderate because I find myself transitioning on many issues to a more conservative belief...I believe that what also makes it hard to be black and conservative is the perception that we are sellouts to Republicans and they point to some persons that are racists and Republican...

We have much work to do to change that perception...We could use a little help (Liberal Thought Warning).....
It ain't easy being who we are and feeling what we feel...

Where is the NAACP?

They didn't seem to mind lying, cheating, corrupt Bubba being termed the first black president. They didn't seem to mind a Florida deejay making blatant racist remarks about Condi Rice. They didn't seem to mind Harry Belafonte making racist remarks about Colin Powell.

I wouldn't hold my breath, waiting for them to comment.

Who else remembers when Barbie was just "a doll"

I was never a Barbie fan, but one of my daughters is. She's begging for the "Princesses of the World" dolls, which all (of course) have magnificent gowns and impossibly good hair.

Young girls want to be beautiful princesses ... they don't want to be trash, unless adults convince them they should.
