An Army Islamic chaplain, who counseled al Qaeda prisoners at the Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, naval base, has been charged with espionage, aiding the enemy and spying, The Washington Times has learned.

Capt. James J. Yee, a 1990 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., was arrested earlier this month by the FBI in Jacksonville, Fla., as he arrived on a military charter flight from Guantanamo, according to a law-enforcement source.

I'd say the "highest levels" means GWB.

Have a feeling we may have a very big fish.

Tidbit: James Yee, now known as Yoseph Yee would not allow himself to be photographed while in Cuba.

If that picture we are seeing is him, he certainly does not appear to be pure chinese.

Sheesh, what a shocker! I hope our military has a reserve pool of qualified muslim "chaplains" to replace "brother" Lee

This is from a link that was sent to me by M0sby: Williams' first assignment, in 1985, was with the 15th Engineer Battalion at Fort Lewis. In 1990, he transferred to the 84th Engineer Company in Germany, which supported the 2nd Armed Cavalry Regiment, then based in Nuremberg. However, company elements were stationed in several towns in northern Bavaria, and military officials had no record of his duty station. Williams apparently took part in the Persian Gulf War with the 2nd ACR and 84th Engineer Company. Military records do not specifically list his wartime unit. Combat engineers typically create and clear minefields and operate heavy equipment. The 2nd ACR was disbanded from Germany in 1992, and Williams then transferred to Fort Ord, Calif., where he served in the 13th Engineer Battalion. Back to Fort Lewis In 1993, he transferred to the 14th Engineer Battalion at Fort Lewis, where he served until his discharge from active duty. Military officials said they could not describe the character of his discharge but noted he did go on to serve in a National Guard unit for about one more year.

As you can see it is unclear where exactly he was stationed, but the times definitely conincide with Yee's deployment.

Looks like we're not going to get any information until he is officially charged. Even then because he is in the military, will it be made public or can it be "classified" because of others. ( I assume there is a "good guy spy" in this.)

If that were done - the Capitol would be blocked from view due to all the traitors hanging around.

When and where was the incident where the Mohammed the sniper had purportedly put a grenade in his fellow soldiers tent?

And that sure sounds like a familiar plot that occured in Iraq on our run to Baghdad.

It was in the Gulf War. He was reported by his CO, but they had no hard proof and the guy came out and talked about it after Muhammed was arrested, saying that he had made a mental note of remembering this guy because he was sure he was guilty, but could not prove it.

The chaplain is mainly a chaplain to our own soldiers. The question should be:
What secrets are being extracted from our own soldiers by the "good chaplain"??

Another Jihadist in the Army? At least this one wasn't in the field where he could be rolling grenades into occupied tents.

Yeah, I forgot about that freak. What ever happened to him?

One article places Muhammed the sniper at the Kuwait-Iraq border when the grenade incident occurred.

From what I have heard from Charlestonians, this brig is considered ultra-secure.

Bingo. He's no small fish.

I'm just tossing this around but Yee might be a recruiter for these terrorists and I equate him with a Mosque leader where a lot of "recruitment" occurs. It's just a moveable Mosque in the military.

Who funded Yee when he went to study Islam?? would be my next question.

I don't think we're going to find out much about this because I think it's all going to wind up being classified. Yee is not a civilian.

Re: Pork dinner. Good idea. Less offensive than mine.

Re: Highest levels of the administration. I concur.

Re: Yarmulkes and the Supreme Court. I didn't know that. Thanks.

On the last point, wearing a yarmulke, which has no effect on readiness or military bearing, I would have never had an objection to begin with, but the point was germane.

There does seem to be a direct conflict, or at least a strong potential conflict of allegiances when it comes to Muslims in the military. Muslims cannot be trusted to obey lawful orders because they hold that their religious obligations trump their military obligations. Ergo, any Muslim enlistment or commissioning is potentially fraudulent.

Since there is no way we can tell when or if that conflict is going to come into play prior to the fact, the only reasonable solution is to decline their services.
