If that's the case, then why would those bastards want to be independant from Russia? I mean, that would just make it harder for them to do their kidnapping and terrorism routines.

Not stop them in least crossing border. In 3 years quasy independence, they kidnap 1,500 peoples, and quite a few American...why US gov not say word? Even US baptist preacher beheaded and nothing said. 11 members in Red Cross mission in Grozny killed and robbed. Four British telecom official beheaded, etc...

Chechins side with Nazies and become allies, for that Stalin exile whole lot of them. Grozny built by Russians and Georgians, it not Chechin city, no Chechins lived in city until Russians built cities. In 1992 Chechins arm by Arabs and clear 400,000+ Russian (including Cossaks from Cossak land in northern plain), Georgians, Jews and Armenians from Chechnya. Those they did not out right kill. That almost third of Chechyn population.

Didn't the Chechens run some of the largest crime gangs in Moscow? Then about 3 years ago during this war and Chechens were evicted from Moscow? Are no longer allowed in Moscow?

Chechens are a bunch of animals. The biggest problem with American conceptions appears to be the state department. It's taking the Bush administration a long time to eliminate the vestages of the previous administration. They pretty much have all the Clintonistas out of DOD by now, the the state department is a harder nut to crack. I'd look for some sort of a housecleaning at state if Bush is reelected, particularly if they put Dick Cheney in charge of state.

shame on the Wall street juornal for such stupid liberal propaganda! God bless President Bush for having the vision to sse through double-standard which says Russia is wrong to fight terrorism, same terrorism Islamist, Al-Quaida, Wahhabism as struck America on 9-11-01! If the Wall street journals feel sorry for "inocent Chechens" and praise "brave" Chechen rebels they must be very proud for what happened to America on 9-11. Just peace-loving Muslims protestring evil infidel russians and Israelis killing Islamic brothers, with American sympathy, right???
