Bush has shown a surprisingly high calcium content in his backbone twice in the last 7 days. He spoke up on behalf of Rush and he has unplugged Colin Powell, justly criticized Howard Dean's beloved soldiers of Hamas for their homocide bombings. By asserting Israel's right to self-defence, he gives Syria reason to think about their continued support of the terrorist camps in the Bekkau Valley.

Agreed. The real quagmire in the War on Terror is having to squabble with the Democrats and the media over "leaks," "yellowcake," so-forth and so-on. We need to refocus our attention on the bigger picture of terrorism internationally, and within the region. I hope that the Israeli attack on Syria will force the US to again look at the bigger picture.

radical Arab terrorists extend beyond that region. (For example, Bush has cut off US-based Hamas funding,)

The causes of the Arab-Israeli
conflict go back to the 1948 UN
Partition and must be solved with
reference to that starting point

That the Arabs have resorted to

im still trying to understand the rationale for israel entering another country to destroy an islamic jihad facility... im also trying to understand bush making that comment about "defending oneself"... im also interested in knowing if syria condemned the attacks on israel and what
they are doing to prevent future attacks... can anyone answer this? i understand that israel was attacked in a most gruesome way, but shouldnt they have at least consulted with syria before just launching an attack in its territories? consistent with bush's foreign policy history, after going in and kicking afghanistan & iraq regimes out for defending terrorists, i guess he's trying to make a point to syria as well... if syria wont at least condemn these attacks on israel then they are no better than terrorists and should be considered that way, and dealt with.

im on bush's side, but i think he's starting to lose control of the situation that 9/11 created...
