If someone believes Roman Dogma concerning Mary to be true, they will so distort Scripture as to support their belief. Odd how fingers always point towards the "Roman Church", whereas no one ever speaks of the Orthodox Church.

That's cause we're a stealth Church! :) I suspect they always talk about you guys because in some strange way they think you actually care what they think. They know we couldn't care less what they think!

Odd how fingers always point towards the "Roman Church", whereas no one ever speaks of the Orthodox Church. It's the Pope they are opposed to and leary of. Yet they manage time and again to overlook the fact that the Orthodox have the same reverence to the Blessed Mother as us 'Romans', and many of the same other beliefs. They are very anti-pope. I had this very conversation with a relative who is now an Episcopalian.

I wasn't aware of the fact that LDS now outnumbered Lutherans in the United States, until I read that piece NYer posted.
Thanks for the ping, BTW.

The question has to be asked, if all that the report claims is true, why does the Bible not mention it clearly? Why doesn't the Bible mention the Trinity clearly?

They know we couldn't care less what they think! Lol ... you're probably right. Here's the downside to recognizing only one successor to Peter. The pope becomes the immovable target against which everyone can shoot their barbs. You're decidedly better off with several Patriarchs than one Pope.

"stealth Church!"
LOL.
I figure that a demon possessing human flesh speaks in Latin to hurt Jesus' feelings. After all, it was Roman soldiers that tortured and molested Him.
Such fallen societies that point toward the "Roman Church" for their attacks focus directly at those they intend to hurt emotionally and psychologically. There's nothing in their arguments to substantiate a reasonable argument. It's just plain mean spirited.
Some cardiologist figure that Jesus ultimately died of heart failure. The dogged attacks of fallen Catholics and fallen Catholic cultures (like that which resides in England), are trying to break the Church's heart the way a naughty daughter rebelliously marries her father's worst enemy.
I've been told by an English ally that a typical rebellious naughty British daughter will get back at her dad by marrying an Australian. It's a good thing that Sidney has a great Catholic Bishop. There's a sly sense of comedy in God's Divine Justice...isn't there?

All of the dogmas follow logically from the role that Our Lady plays at all the key moments in Christ's life, as described in the New Testament. And the dogmas are present in Sacred Tradition from the very beginning. I believe the early Church fathers wrote about Mary as the new Eve to Christ, the new Adam. However, I don't blame them being skeptical of Frank Griswold, a word-salad speaking justifier of heresies if there ever was one...

I'm glad the two lungs can agree upon the importance of Our Lady, whom all generations shall call blessed.

>>
Reread the Epiphany passages of the Gospels: Jesus, dove, God the Father: "This is my beloved Son in Whom I am well pleased." Can't get much clearer than that.

Me too. We call her "Panagia", Panagia, the All Holy One! If the Protestants think you guys have a devotion to the Most Holy Theotokos, they should attend an Akathist some day! That would really scare them.
