Litany of Saints....now they are going to have me balling.
Litany of the Saints... I am in Heaven!!
The Great Cloud of Witnesses....
Not far from it my friend.
Just beautiful1 I have tears in my eyes. I am so proud of the young people I’ve seen there today.
LoL, advance! What I was getting at in my obtuse way is that there’s a great deal of emphasis on the Mexican and Latin cultures, frankly, and the Af-Americans; there’s always an effort to have a Mexican and a black person do readings or sing or whatever. America as a nation of immigrants, fine, this is OK, but let’s not forget another group, the Indians, or Native Americans. Many of them are still in unfortunate situations on reservations, and also the history of the Catholic church in USA and Alaska is very intertwined with the Indian peoples. It’s something we don’t hear much about, and it’s a very interesting history, full of stories of courage, and I was glad the young people did bring it out later in the list of saints.
Amen, glory to God. Alleluia. Alleluia.
Oh yeah...that woud have been great symbolism. The Pope telling our youth that tobacco is ok with him.
Its the power and mystery of the Mass, that makes it so hard to understand. The Litany of the Saints joins us in prayer with all those who walked by Faith before us and now are before the throne. The Mass, like the Litany of the Saints, unites us, outside of time and place, with the whole Church. We are on Golgotha at the time of the Crucifixion and we are at the Feast of the Lamb in the New Heavenly Jerusalem. That is the Power of the Tradition of the Church. It connects us wherever we are, with all those who are, all those who came before and all those who will come.
Talk about tears. What a beautiful moment each of these wonderful young people are having with him!
They’ll remember it all their lives.
What do those morons at FNC think they are DOING! He is the POPE, shut up when he is speaking!
My gosh, who is the singer? She is dreadful. Singing and pronunciation, simply terrible. Besides, this is not the Ave Maria! The Pope seems to have a puzzled look on his face, I can see why.
Ave Maria, how glorious!
It was Kelly Clarkson of American Idol fame. She didn’t have the range for that song, and her tone is too much pop singer.
Hmm, they did a good job on EWTN, only starting narrating again a couple of minutes ago.
That’s why I switched to EWTN.
Well, off to get some work done around here.
Oh, I see, a pop singer. What a shame, as there must be some young, Catholic coloratura sopranos with real talent in music schools in the USA or right in NYC who could have done this properly, beautifully, and with the RIGHT WORDS!
Yes, they will. I have people at my church telling and re-telling the time they saw Pope John Paul II, especially if they received Holy Communion from him.
Thanks - I will follow your example next time.
I couldn’t here the POPE, because some self-important talking heads on FNC thought their words were more important.
AAaaaaaaaarrrrrrgh!
(There, I vented.)
