I’m glad that there are some orthodox habit-wearing sisters out there, but there sure are none around where I live. Supposedly there is a convent connected with my parish, but as they are mostlý elderly and without habits, they are not a visible presence. One always hears emphasis on prayer for vocations to the priesthood, but I think an invigoration of religious orders of sisters is just as important — the witness of Mary and Martha is as crucial as that of the Apostles, and as an added benefit will belie the allegedly “patriarchal” nature of the Church.
