The Ark of the Covenant is the sacred container of the Ten Commandments as well as Aaron’s rod and a sample of manna, the mysterious food that kept the Israelites alive while wandering in the wilderness during their journey to the promised land.

I thought the ark was taken away during the Babylonian captivity? Did they sell it to some ethiopian merchant for a nice price back in 600 BC? You know how it is, on the antiques' shows, people are always turning up a Constitution tucked away behind a painting or some rare painting being used to line a barn.

Hasn’t been kept secret, just kept in an Ethiopian Church. The one in Ethiopia may be a copy Solomon sent to the Queen of Sheba, as misdirection.

Wasn’t it some kind of ancient capacitor? I seem to recall something along the lines that if you touched it, it would kill you with lightning... Sorry, not a bible scholar here... Am I close?

I have a question. Why isn’t this upcoming event mentioned anywhere else in the news? I did a Yahoo search, and no one else is reporting this. It seems to me that, at the very least, this would be newsworthy archeologically. It doesn’t make sense to me.

I believe just the Italian Media...

The secret was kept in Africa in a place ruled by the last Lion of Judah.
Africa has been fairly inaccessible until modern times.

Well, according to Bible text, a man not authorized to touch it reached to steady it when it was about to topple over, and he was ‘struck down, instantly’. The Philistines were imedaitely struck with a ‘plague’ when they went to open it after caturing it in battle with the Israelites, s they left it sitting out for years and years and it was eventually towed by oxen back to Jerusalem (where the man reached to steady it on the journey).
