It isn’t a gotcha game. It is a fact that you mis-stated when you originally said that (Paraphrasing) Only those who have recieved commission from the laying-of-hands recieving apostolic succession can preach the gospel.

It has been PROVEN to you that your assertion is NOT true, yet you call it “gotcha games”.

You are now informed and refusing to see and heed the TRUTH. I’m sad for you.

Catholics do not regard Mary as a Deity, and still less do they regards statues of her as Deities.

Then why pray to her? She cannot hear you she has died and knows the corruption of the grave.

>>Wow, I am assuming you mean God’s Word?<<

Did God drop that book into someone’s lap in English?
No. The words are written on a page. It is a representation of God’s Word written in a way that an English speaking person can understand.

We’re not talking about the tablets handed to Moses here.

His disciples received Holy Orders...directly from the Apostles at/after Pentecost...Jesus only ordained the twelve. But all priests can trace their ordination back to the twelve.

Yes and I can make up enough of a family tree to trace my roots to Lincoln, Washington, and all great men. It is amazing the extent of the lies the church would tell. The apostles were Jewish and never renounced their faith.

I don’t see anybody saying prayers to it like catholics do to Mary, so where is the worship?

Here’s an English translation. For what its worth, the feast has been celebrated in the Eastern Church since the 6th century.

If they believed in Christ, they were Christians.

You may be mixing up Christ’s gift of sacramental authority with the rest of Christ’s teachings.

The Apostles are those who were given special authority and responsibility by Christ. Only they - and their descendants - were and are given authority by Christ to enact certain of the sacraments: to absolve sinners and re-enact the Eucharist, to ordain Priests and ministers.

We all must love God and our neighbor. We must all follow the commandments. But (for instance) only Priests can celebrate the Eucharist or absolve sins.

There are exceptions: laymen have the ability to carry out some sacraments - notably Marriage and Baptism, as long as (IIRC) they are carried out in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

FReeper Nanetteclaret did

“It doesn’t matter what you say or how you explain it. I still believe Protestants worship the Bible. I’ve seen it with my own eyes! The open Bible is front and center on the table right below the pulpit. All worship centers around this collection of pieces of paper. Protestants always have one in their hands and never go to church without theirs. It’s all-Bible, all-the-time, and the bigger, the better. I’ve seen people put one hand on the Bible and stretch their other hand out in prayer. It sure looks to me like they think the Bible does possess intrinsic holiness, not unlike a relic. And it looks to me like they worship it. “

I’ve seen it thousands of times on tv.
People hold their books and look up to heaven. It goes everywhere with them, they even put it in a place of honor in the house.

Sure looks like worship to me.

...why the Catholics insist on worshipping someone who is barely mentioned in the totality of the text is beyond me...

You bear false witness against about a billion people with stunning facility.

Why is it that some non-Catholics believe that we are saved through Jesus Christ, that we are born to eternal life, but when we leave this world, we die?

Hmmmmm

Where is that in the New Testament? I know of only one epistle where the order of the authority of the church was mentioned. Nothing of the sort you mention is written in that epistle. Christ alone can forgive (absolve) sin. No man is capable of such a thing.

Why yes!
I am English and Scottish, but mostly Polish. I’d say Petronski and I are of the same clan.

Is that the Ilk you are talking about?

Christ alone can forgive (absolve) sin.

And he does so in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
