Fr. Thomas Euteneuer

BIOGRAPHY: Rev. Thomas J. Euteneuer became president of Human Life International in December of 2000. Human Life International is the world’s largest pro-life organization with affiliate offices and associates in seventy-five countries around the world. In five years of service to this unique mission Fr. Euteneuer has traveled more than 500,000 miles as a pro-life missionary and visited more than forty countries.

Fr. Euteneuer was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1962, the fourth of seven children born to Joseph and Marian Euteneuer. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana as well as a Licentiate degree in Biblical Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, Italy. He is fluent in Spanish.

While in college, Fr. Euteneuer participated in the Marine Corps Officer Candidate Program, attended boot camp at Quantico, Virginia and graduated at the top of his Company. After discerning that the Lord was calling him to the priesthood rather than the military, he entered the seminary. After his ordination in 1988, Fr. Euteneuer served as a parish priest in five parishes of the Diocese of Palm Beach, Florida, secretary to the diocesan bishop, director of vocations, and spiritual moderator for the diocesan Respect Life Office.

His pro-life activity began in the early years of his priesthood with prayer vigils, pilgrimages, pickets at abortion mills, sidewalk counseling and the establishment of a crisis pregnancy center across the street from an abortion mill in 1999.

Since taking office at HLI, Fr. Euteneuer has spoken to thousands of people all over the world spreading the Gospel of Life as well as making many appearances on EWTN and other local, national and international media. He has been featured in Human Events and National Catholic Register and has recently been awarded the John Cardinal O’Connor Award for Life from Legatus.

I saw it advertised over the weekend. I wasn’t sure what night it was on, tonight, huh? Well, I must admit I’m drawn to it, but I’m also repulsed by the thought of it being necessary, as well. It’s complicated.

I’ll watch it and keep an open mind. I must admit, I tend to think of it as the “Hollywood” approach to salvation. ;-) Don’t hate me, I just came into the fold via mainline Protestantism.

I alway have to laugh, as my RC catechism continues to grow -- in the upbringing of my world, if you didn't believe in it -- it didn't exist. Don't laugh, that's true.

It’s the strategy Satan is counting on, to be sure. Who could laugh at that worldview? It’s the predominant one in force today?

I completely believe that’s how you were raised. It’s certainly how my mother tried to raise me.

Fr. Euteneuer is strong in his apologetics and has taken on many “Catholics”, especially in the media and the politicians He is a leader in his pro life work. God Bless EWTN

Fr. Euteneuer absolutely rocks! For those of you who didn't know, he even took on Sean Hannity over contraception. And evidently Sean "lost it." I didn't see the episode; I would love to see it, though. Fr. Euteneuer has the courage and Catholicism of a saint ... I expect he very much wishes to be one. He's an amazing priest. Please pray for him ...

I watch the 12 mid-night repeat of the 8 AM Mass. I’m sure he said the Mass this morning especially being on “life on the Rock”
