Please pray for my dog named Jessie. She is a 150lb. Mastiff and she has cancer. She is so large that the vet could not remove her leg and now she keeps crying even though she has medicine. I would be thankful for any prayers. God bless and thanks.
Amen.
I’m very sorry for you and your dog’s pain.
Sorry to hear. It’s always painful to loose a pet.
Try to find a way to enjoy some final moments with your pet and do the right thing.
Prayers going up.
I’m a dog lover too. Spend as much time with her as you can. Thats all she wants.
I will keep Jessie and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
I know that it is very hard to lose a good dog. They are true friends. However, she can live forever in your memory.
Don’t let her suffer needlessly. Remember that you are God in her eyes.
I am so sorry for you and your pet. I had a dog that passed in my arms in great pain and I would not let that happen again. Whatever decision you make, I know it will be with great love for your friend and that she will wait for you on the other side. God Bless.
Word to the wise---you can be in the room with your pet when they put em to sleep. I never would have known that if I hadn't seen that movie Marley and Me. I asked the doc and they said ok.
As difficult as it was, it made me feel better to be there with him. They sedated him, and he sat in my lap until he was zonked. Then they gave him a shot and within about 15 seconds it was over.
I know how hard it is, believe me, but you need to do right by your pet and help him have a nice, calm trip to Heaven. Don't let him suffer. Be strong. Be there for your pet in his time of need.
Prayers for Jessie.
I have a mastiff, too, and he is the finest dog I have ever known.
If he were in that kind of pain, I would have to go with him to the vet, hold his big beautiful head in my lap, and kiss him until the medicine took effect and he was gone.
I think I am facing that, someday, because these wonderful giants do not live long, God bless them.
You and your wonderful dog are in my prayers for relief of the pain. May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you both, in His Holy Name I pray, amen.
I’m sorry, but it’s time she found peace.
I would find another vet! But prayers that the pain is gone! I know what you are going through, I’ve had dogs all my life and they become as close as children, it hurts to see them hurt!
Even better yet, see if your vet will come to your home to put your dog at peace. I have already covered this with our vet for when the time comes. As difficult as it is to go through, it is the right thing to do for your beloved companion.
A very good (but difficult) solution.
I cry just thinking about it and our cats are just 5 years old. Oh, how those babies work their way into our hearts!
It’s been nearly three years since our beloved Koko had to leave us, and the vet who helped mailed a sympathy card with this poem attached:
IF I SHOULD GROW FRAIL
If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain does keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done
For this - the last battle - can’t be won.
You will be sad I understand
But don’t let grief then stay your hand.
For on this day, more than the rest
Your love and friendship must stand the test.
We have had so many happy years,
You wouldn’t want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.
Take me to where my needs they’ll tend,
Only, stay with me till the end.
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree
It is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don’t grieve that it must now be you
Who has to decide this thing to do.
We’ve been so close - we two- these years,
Don’t let your heart hold any tears.

I’ve had to make that trip six times. It’s a hard thing to have to do, but it’s the right thing. Go back to the vet’s. Be with her when he does it. She’ll just drift off with you there.
My prayers are for you to find the strength to do it, and comfort when it is done.
