Thanks for the information about the decent films! And that is also good news about Kirk Cameron (I am so non-up to date all I can say is I’ve heard his name but have no idea who he is...)
I am a hermit in the woods and don’t have TV and the only movie I’ve watched in 10 or more years is Lord of the Rings. ;-)

You may remember Kirk when he was a teenager as the star of the sitcom “Growing Pains”... :) He also played “Buck” in the Left Behind movies.

Remember “Growing Pains”? He was Mike, the older boy.

He has become a wonderful voice for Christians in the entertainment industry.
Oh, you must see “Facing the Giants” which is unashamedly Christian. And a wonderful movie to boot.

Prude.
LOL. Yeah, it's prudery not to want to debauch yourself in front of millions of people.
The moral vacuity around here is frightening sometimes.

Well what did you expect. We the Men are dogs, LOL.
Some men are dogs. Others are knights. It's completely your choice which category you put yourself in.

While I am certainly no prude, I find the simulated sex scenes in movies (and for Gods sake!) on TV to be in extremely bad taste.
I enjoy nudity in movies, and enjoy depictions of passionate love; but I didn't need to see Leonidas taking his wife from behind in “300” to know that he loved her and would miss her, and that they were passionate with each other.
A bit of nudity, a kiss, fade to black. When the cameras come back we all know what they did. No need to see them pretend to make the beast with two backs.
I really liked this actor in “Band of Brothers”, and I hope his career continues unaffected by this miscasting.

“Even in the recent movie Fireproof (admittedly predictable, but with a good message) “
Fireproof was one of the best movies I have ever seen. Full of surprises, including some firefightng and rescue scenes that I found profoundly frightening.
I think it is actually a guy film. One of the very best.

I had a TV for about 6 months in 1980, I think, and one for about a year and a half when Clinton was being impeached. Other than that, I haven’t lived in a house with a TV since 1967. And I so rarely watch movies that the last movie I’ve seen is Lord of the Rings...
My only knowledge of movies/actors etc is what I read about on FR or elsewhere and the magazines I’m forced to look at while paying for groceries!

Maybe someone should [publish] a decent actor/actress/movie list.Robert Duvall is a closet conservative. He lives in Virginia and doesn't participate in Hollyweird social life. Andy Garcia, another reliably traditional American and an avid family man. Gary Sinise -- a great troop supporter, as is Denzel Washington, who is a very nice family man as well.

Ive seen too many otherwise good movies ruined because they put an irrelevant sex scene in it that has nothing to do with the plot. The totally historically improbable sex scene in the movie Titanic is a case in point.
