I was surprised to read, just this week, that some Catholics believe that the Vatican didn't reveal the "real" third secret. Seriously, is there a group that actually thinks this?
If you go to the video you find there are 35 reasons why there is a missing text of the 3rd secret.
Call me crazy but I didn’t know there was even a possibility of a missing secret.
Why is that so hard to believe?
Fatima is one of the most impregnable barriers between me and a return to Rome. Popular Catholic piety (”The Blue Army of our Lady of Fatima”) is indistinguishable from pagan goddess worship. This kind of piety, like Mormon piety, has the whiff of the demonic around it. Cursed are all those who promote other deities.

Watching the presentation, the expert says many in the Catholic church interpret the part of the third secret—given to little Lucia way back in 1917 —that IS revealed, to be the murder of the pope:

The “bishop clothed in white, makes his way with great effort toward the cross amid the corpses of those who were martyred. He, too, falls to the ground, apparently dead, under a burst of gunfire.”
Another part of the secret that has been revealed is that the “faith will survive in Portugal”...implying it will ‘not’ elsewhere? Perhaps this is why the Lady appeared to deliver this message in Portugal? ( Assuming one subscribes to the entire premise in the first place? suspend judgement for a moment to consider)
It is eerie stuff, with Christianity under such assault and even the push to “arrest the pope” that is currently in vogue among some extreme atheist and intellectuals ( Hitchens and Dawkins most conspicuously) And again this was communicated in 1917.
Further, according to this very articulate and erudite Mr Ferrera, he ( and a growing number of others) firmly believes—and has forensically investigated in agonizing detail—that there does exist a second part to the message/secret....that is hidden intentionally by the Vatican, made up of 25 lines.
One wonders why it is sealed, hidden, even denied to exist—is it horrible too give exposure—too terrible a fait accomplait?
Mysterious.
There has been a great many cover-ups and whitewashings by the Vatican of the true warnings of Our Lady to the shepherd children!
I am not a graphics expert, but I have seen reasons for believing that the Vatican's "Third Secret" was not written in Sister Lucia's handwriting.
I should qualify that as the Sister Lucia who was one of the three shepherd visionaries -- since it may be that the Vatican also created a doppleganger of Sister Lucia to pose for photos with Pope John Paul II and to "verify" the Vatican's "Third Secret."
Perhaps it tells of the AntiChrist or False Prophet rising out of the Catholic church? I’m not Catholic, but hear me out here - if this were a revelation (which God would have allowed as a warning), the Catholic church would probably not want it public lest every pope be seen as an AntiChrist by the faithful.
I’m not Catholic, either. I have heard of Fatima before and never knew what it was about. This has peaked my interest as a Christian....and certainly in the times we are in at the moment.
Any apparition must be subjected to the Scripture test, so keep that in mind when looking at Marian apparitions.

It’s been my belief, that some of the third secret was revealed only on the papal level, but perhaps I’m wrong. It’s been a long time since I re-read materials and discussed Fatima in depth.

I believe you are mistaken in the authenticity judgments on an apparition.
Do you know what they are? And it’s not necessarily all in Scripture.
Remember the Catholic Church has Holy Tradition — and the Bible even talks about this Holy Tradition of truths being handed down from one person to another by mouth.
This has been debunked by Sr. Lucia herself. Nothing to see.....move on.
Apparitions are thoroughly investigated by the Vatican before they are approved. And they must cease before any judgment can be made at all.
I see no problem with sorting out all the details. If you are on the inside track here, please let us know. Otherwise, I believe it’s been thoroughly investigated. Have you read any of the books about Fatima?

Salvation, I said apply the Scripture test. I didn’t say what that test is. The fact you would shove it aside without a definition says a lot.
The apostle John puts it this way:
1Jo 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
God’s Word is inspired by Him and will not contradict Him for He will not contradict Himself. So too - anything extra biblical will not contradict Him either. Test it by the Word of God. If it contradicts toss it. Satan is a deceiver. Be not deceived.

I think I might be able to take a guess at why the second part of the secret was not revealed after the date of 1960, which was the year it was supposed to be revealed. It was a warning of punishment coming on the church and the world should the church stray from Jesus. The Pope in l960 refused to read the message. That timing would have happened two or three years prior to Vatican II and probably would have derailed Vatican II as we have known it.
As a teen I remember every previously repressed voice asserting itself; advocating for abortion, sex outside of marriage, divorce, feminist hatred of men and families, communism and even disrespect for or disbelief in Jesus. I was so broken hearted by all of this and although it lessened my attachment to the church, it never touched my relationship and love for Jesus. Vatican II untied the opposite of Jesus within the church and in my opinion, it has run on a rampage ever since.
We see it now resulting in the church suffering scandal (massive child sex and physical abuse) as the visionary warned. We even have wackos whipping up a murderous ideal for the Pope and I have no doubt there are plenty in Europe who would like to murder the people in the Vatican - including the Pope.
Pope John Paul thought or wanted the public to think that the part of the secret he revealed - the murder of the Pope - had been stopped in the attempted murder of himself. But I don’t think that was it. The murder of the Pope will happen in during Revelation’s chaos.

You are right, what could be more horrific than the church devouring itself by unleashing the most destructive evil forces—in fact, even nurturing them, within it’s own body?
All the radical ideology and opportunistic political assaults you describe strike at the heart of that which is healthy, solid and sustainable in relationship to God and a functional and spiritually rich, cooperative society.
Yet these forces have not been beaten back, instead they are feeding at the foundation of the church’s very pillars of existence and these infestation has actually been cultivated by those WITHIN—the gates have been flung open to allow the the disease of moral pestilence to infect the host.
I am not Catholic, but a Methodist, however I recognize the essential and precious, irreplaceable value of what the Catholic Church represents symbolically and actively in the Christian world and the world at large.
We humans are imperfect, so our churches will carry imperfections reflected through us, but this is the inevitable reality, our perpetual struggle —our response should not be to slaughter our churches, but work harder to better ourselves—to be honest, to focus, not lose perspective—redeem ourselves and never lose course of the ever-enduring quest in the war of good and evil.
But instead we are allowing the flesh be torn from Christianity before our open eyes. Watching the ravenous tear at our sacred institutions, while we stand by, frozen, allowing media voices (shallow, idiotic and driven by vogue immoralism and delusional “progressivism”) intimidate us into silence while they destroy the fabric of our faith systems.
So yes, this is about as horrific a “secret” that could be..a self-devouring slow death to the most meaningful core of our open, demonstratble connection with Christ, The Church.
It must be said, our personal relationship with God is incorruptible by the hand of man, we are of God, we are God’s children, and there is comfort in this.
However, undoubtably, as the church falls, mankind will fall—turning away from God to a new God—Central Authority.
This in fact, is the virus identified, the killer organism that is calculated-—that is behind all of this.
Remove competition to Central Authority, and there is no greater competition that God in the lives of human beings...therefore it, along with the other core competitive threats, Family and Personal Freedom, must all be reduced or removed.
Faith, family and Freedom are what Barack Obama is neutralizing in his brave new world.
So perhaps the secret warned of this.
Nevertheless, the facts are indisputable. We must not falter, we must stand up to ridicule, to isolation, undauntingly courageous—never tire and ever vigilant.
An alternate deity, an alternate focus of worship and adoration, an alternate source of revelation, an alternate channel for accessing transcendent reality with our prayers -- and you don't smell a rat?
Perhaps, the issue at stake here is the authority of Rome. This is a loyalty test. Those who humble their necks beneath the yoke of the papacy prove the sincerity of their submission by embracing something they should know to be ridiculous.
I've studied cults for a few decades, now, and what I see in the cult of the BVM is demonic. Tarted up in religious verbiage and weasel words, but ultimately channeling human fealty away from God and towards one who desperately wants it -- and wants it badly enough to accept it while wearing a mask. Then, perhaps "at the hour of our death," when it's too late, the mask slips off ... and the Marian devotee falls into the embrace of that luminous angel, Lucifer.
Sister Lucia had already given an indication for interpreting the third part of the “secret” in a letter to the Holy Father, dated 12 May 1982:
“The third part of the secret refers to Our Lady’s words: ‘If not [Russia] will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to suffer; various nations will be annihilated’ (13-VII-1917).
The third part of the secret is a symbolic revelation, referring to this part of the Message, conditioned by whether we accept or not what the Message itself asks of us: ‘If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, etc.’.
Since we did not heed this appeal of the Message, we see that it has been fulfilled, Russia has invaded the world with her errors. And if we have not yet seen the complete fulfilment of the final part of this prophecy, we are going towards it little by little with great strides. If we do not reject the path of sin, hatred, revenge, injustice, violations of the rights of the human person, immorality and violence, etc.
And let us not say that it is God who is punishing us in this way; on the contrary it is people themselves who are preparing their own punishment. In his kindness God warns us and calls us to the right path, while respecting the freedom he has given us; hence people are responsible”.

It relates to the spread of Communism - the ‘errors’ of Russia. The world breathed a sigh of relief when the Soviet Union collapsed. But now, we see it inside our house (USA). Obama is a harbinger of the cancer among us.

Seems pretty clear-cut to me. Muslim fanatics will one day attack the Vatican and there’ll be an awful bloody battle.
In 1917 this must have been hard to take literally, but these days it doesn’t feel “symbolic” at all.
Look at the Episcopal Church, if you “lived through” what has happened to it ... this is not so far fetched. FROM MY point of view, it destroyed itself and tried to take me down too. I left.

I am sure there are inconsistencies in my life, invisible to me, and pray that my dear brothers and sisters will be gracious regarding these.
Still, as much as I respect the Catholic side of God's family, for me, the cult of the BVM is the deal-breaker.
Then Catholics should have no problem with Christians testing it for themselves, as the Bereans did the words of Paul.
I have studied Fatima, though it has been a while. My study of it wasn’t the point. Nor did I tell anyone what to think about it - nevertheless, here come the Mary police ready to pounce on anyone who merely makes any sort of comment on one of their subjects - no matter how benign.
If Fatima passes the biblical test, as you all suggest it does, there should be no problem.
You know of course that the neanderthals made their last stand in what is now Portugal. Remains have been found there that are the most recent of all Neanderthal remains.
