Are Jews concerned....yes; Jumping ship....No.
The subsequent 30+ posts discuss Jewish liberalism.
As long as he has a “D” after his name, they wilkl be back in the fold by election time.
“Jews have always been the underdog or minority in every community.”
Not in antiquity. But, in the last couple thousand years, yes; and they have been persecuted for most of that period. Modern Israel, though, will not so readily submit to that persecution. Modern Israel will fight, and God bless it for that. I’m a Catholic, and I’ll be sixty on my next birthday; but I would gladly bleed for Israel if she needed it.
There may be some other influences in this, such as the economy, unemployment, housing prices etc but two Rabbi’s, one Reform and another Orthodox have endorsed a Republican Candidate in South Florida for the mid-terms. First time they’ve ever gone for the Republican and to make it more amazing, the Dem is Jewish.
I think people are spealing of the Jews in Hollywood. Most especially the younger ones are very liberal..
The ones who are conservative really have no clout in Hollywood or Politics like:
Jerry Lewis
Don Rickles
Henry Youngman
These older Jews are Conservative and are not part of this new generation of Liberal Jews, Gentiles who are Heathen and Atheists.....
It doesn’t border on obsession, it is obsession. Easier to blame Jews than register unregistered Evangelicals, I guess.
Being Jewish, having every single member of my extended family Jewish and also many of my friends, I will never believe some of the poll numbers attributed to Jews.
I don’t believe the poll numbers of the last election.
I ask the readers of this forum, you are so skeptical of the media, rightly so, do you not think it possible that political exit polling of Jews is done in places lets say bastions of Jewish Liberalism like the upper West Side of Manhattan then in areas where more traditional Jews live and vote.
Hmmm...
It is actually younger Jews who are more conservative.
The Democrats say thank you for your post.
They couldn’t have done a better job proving Republicans are religious bigots and idiots.
Btw: Henny Youngman

How do you figure?
Jon Stewart
Sarah Silverman
Sascha Cohen
Larry David
Rob Reiner..
Steven Spielberg
Barabara Streisand
I am talking about Hollywood and Jews that came up from the 20’s to the 60’s (The Golden Age)
The Jews from the 50’s and 60’s were not liberal they were and voted Republican and were part of the Golden Age of Hollywood that is nothing like the Hollywood we have today.
Oh that is right *Henny*
Thanks!
Well I guess what I am saying is all Religious Jews are conservative but all Conservative Jews may not be Religious.
You are simply incorrect.
Most of those Jews you imagine were Republicans were actually Democrats. It’s just that Democrats used to be much more mainstream.
Some FReepers prove it on every mention of "The Jewish Vote."
Orthodox bordering/considering Lubavitch. Nice to meet you. You?
B'H
jjotto is right.
Ditto.
Why would it be surprising that people who are drawn to an entertainment industry, the arts, make believe, are likely to be Liberal?
That’s true for all religious persuasions in such work, not just Jews.
Conservatives are exceptions in that milieu. Period
So can you name a few Jews (Younger 0nes)that vote conservative and are agaisnt Gay Marriage and Abortion in Hollywood?
Do you remember when John the Baptist was in prison? He sent someone to ask Jesus if he was the Messiah. Why??? Because the Messiah John was taught about would come as a warrior king, not a servant. How many Christians today know that Jesus will kill all of Israel’s enemies with a word the same way He killed the fig tree that was producing no fruit.
Have you not studied why God closes or opens eyes and ears?
They are only 2% of the population. During Presidential elections they vote 70% to 80% Democrat. Yes, we can all point to Jewish celebrities or Jewish subgroups that are in that 20% or 30% vote Republican but politics is a numbers game. There are not enough of them to make a difference in a national election although they may impact local elections where they may be more concentrated in certain localities.
Ethnic and racial politics is in the Democrat wheelhouse.
Republicans cannot compete with them in that arena. Republicans are better advised to stay away from courting various ethnic and racial groups and stick with the issues.
