It will be open to the public for (two more weeks?) before it will be covered again in soil to preserve it.

WHAT?? Honestly, open it to the public. It is a beautiful thing of the past. The folks who worshipped there are no longer around. Preserve it for WHAT?

Preserve it for WHAT?

Well, if history is any indicator, for the Muslims to destroy when they get "provoked" by historical artifacts that contradict their demonic fantasies.

Today is a good day to die.
I didn't say for whom.

According to the report they are trying to protect it until they can afford to open it up properly.

Maybe Simcha J. can do something involving good writing and campy stock footage. I love the program myself mostly due to the writing and use of campy stock footage.

Yet they worship a moon rock in Mecca and call it a god.

I like him also but am not a huge fan of his use of campy stock footage.

I liked his take on “Moses vs. Akhenaten” and his special with James Cameron on the Exodus.

He doesn’t give Christianity much slack however.

My sense of humor is probably more in line with his, I would use things like that. When I am home on a weekday afternoon, I will have it on.

It is being looted. The hope is to get funding in the future to preserve it with a structure to prevent looting.

The same liberals who are deluding themselves in this Egypt “protest for democracy” adore the acient Egyptian artifacts and civilization. Wait until their “freedom fighters” raze it.

Antiquities Robbery Prevention headed by Amir Ganor reportedly uncovered a 1,500-year-old church in Hirbet Madras in Israel. The 1,500-year-old church was said to be discovered several months in a pursuit to capture gang of grave robbers who had been plundering the ruins.

According to reports, archaeologists began digging at the site in December. The ancient church was said to be about the size of a basketball court and contained fallen marble pillars and a nearly pristine 10-meter-long unusually well-preserved mosaic floor with images of lions, foxes, fish and peacocks.

Ganor said that the floor was “one of the most beautiful mosaics to be uncovered in Israel in recent years.”

Furthermore, they also found a burial chamber that the Antiquities authority said that might have been venerated as the burial place of the Old Testament prophet Zecharia (Zechariah). However, the claim has not been proven and is still being studied, according to reports.

Meanwhile, international news websites reported that the 1,500-year-old church will be covered again with soil for its own protection. It will remain covered until funding is obtained to open it as a tourist site.

Very interesting and amazing. The muslims have always claimed that they were the originators of mosaic tiling.

To who are the images of lions, foxes, fish and peacocks representative of?

The muslims have always claimed that they were the originators of mosaic tiling.

Do you have a source for that? Their style is Arabesque and the mosaic tiles date back several hundred years before Christ.

These Christian sites are likely creations of the Monophysites that lived in the area.
