The deputy chief of chaplains of the United States Army told fellow army chaplains on February 17 that “the upcoming end to ‘don’t ask, don’t tell,’ which will allow openly gay and lesbian individuals to enlist and for soldiers who have hidden their preferences to come out, if they want, means Army chaplains will have a major part in preparing the service to accept the lifestyles of some,” according to an Arizona newspaper’s summary of his remarks.
Father Donald Rutherford, a priest of the Diocese of Albany who holds the rank of brigadier general, reportedly added that “you don’t have to agree with them, you will respect them and help them.”
In 2003, Father Rutherford signed a petition calling for optional celibacy for priests.

God Expects Us to Judge
“The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.” (Psa. 37:30) A righteous person will talk of judgment. He will not REFUSE to judge. He will talk judgment.
“Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the LORD, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken. Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.” (Amos 5:14-15) How can you hate the evil and love the good if you refuse to judge? You can’t. You are SINNING when you refuse to judge.
He also called on God to forgive them as they tortured him to death. The concept of loving the sinner is certainly biblical because that was Christ's whole mission and the concept of hating the sin was taught by Christ; so the love the sin, hate the sinner thing is absolutely biblical. I don't recall that is was originally posted by Salvation as a verse quote in the first place.

Wouldn’t loving those sinners involve rebuking them?
Christ rebuked the Pharisees, Sadduccees and scribes many times, but they did not hear or understand his words.
And, yes - this is love.

Seems likely that at least some of them did. How many sodomites might seek help if they were rebuked rather than celebrated?
Not arguments on that score. Actually, I wasn’t disageeing with your original point so much as showing both sides.
1) Because the services are more and more secular, and the chaplains are often goofy liberal freaks. They are a joke.
2&3) They are like an old man with nothing to do just looking for someone to talk to, like you, and once they get started it’s hell getting them to stop. Or like Mormon boys on mission—one may think it’s a nice thing but YOU don’t want to stop what you’re doing to talk to them.
4) They are a waste of money because they’re unnecessary personnel and they aren’t interchangeable. What good is a homosexual episcopal priest to the Roman Catholics who need the Mass?
Or some chaplains will tell them that they are going to hell and that will be the end of the gay military. ;D
One thing that has become very obvious is how many gays work in a conspiratorial way to get their own kind into positions of power, much as the communists have done in many institutions. This could very well be why there are so many gays in the clergy.
Remember what General Casey said following the Fort Hood massacre— worse than the deaths of the 13 victims would be any potential threat to “multiculturalism”. This is what we get when we vote for Democrats or wolves-in-sheep's-clothing Republicans. We have to support people who are truly strong in ALL of our American values.

My experience says that you are totally wrong or that you’ve simply had the misfortune of being served by a few chaplains who were on the lower end of the scale.
Chaplains can be a huge resource for a command.

Therefore, regarding homosexuals in the military he says to Chaplains: (1) Feel free to disagree with homosexuality, (2) Respect homosexuals, (3) Help homosexuals.
The important question is simple: “Will it be considered disrespectful of homosexuals to help them see the error of their lifestyle.?”
Chaplains must not resign over this. It would be far better to have them officially and publicly declared unfit for service for refusing to forget the destructiveness, the deadliness that is homosexuality and the homosexual lifestyle.
For this chaplain, who we are told in one of the articles, became a chaplain in 1990, to be a brigadier general is 21 years to BG. That strikes me as pretty quick. Something else was at work there.
