Trevor Phillips warned that "an old time religion incompatible with modern society" is driving the revival in the Anglican and Catholic Churches and clashing with mainstream views, especially on homosexuality.
He accused Christians, particularly evangelicals, of being more militant than Muslims in complaining about discrimination, arguing that many of the claims are motivated by a desire for greater political influence.
...While the equalities boss promised to fight for the rights of Christians, he expressed concern that many cases were driven by fundamentalist Christians who are holding increasing sway over the mainstream churches because of the influence of African and Caribbean immigrants with "intolerant" views.
In contrast, Muslims are less vociferous because they are trying to integrate into British "liberal democracy", he said.

The (kind of) interesting thing about Phillips is, despite being a frothing lefty, he claims to be totally opposed to the idea of multiculturalism. He’s argued that it hinders the UK’s needed goal of a “core of Britishness”.
Upon reading this current article, though, I kinda have to wonder what his idea of “Britishness” is, y’know?
Probably the same as an American liberal's vision for America:
“...especially on homosexuality.”
Yeah—we’ve replaced water baptisms with good old fashion Muslim beheadings of homosexuals. But, hey, that’s just how intolerant Christians are.
Exterminte those against Islam?
That says it all.
Welcome aboard the multi-culturalism train. If the world is to be Islamic, I welcome my head being chopped off.
BTW, I won’t go down without a fight!
Have a nice day.
Another good reason why our great great great grandfathers shot their great great great grandfathers.
Phillips was married to Asha Bhownagary for 28 years. Phillips met his former wife, a child psychologist, as a student , and the couple have two grown-up daughters, Sushila and Holly. Phillips and Bhownagary separated in February 2008. Soon afterwards, he started going out with TV producer Helen Veale, who is 16 years his junior.
Delightful irony that liberals have . . .
Embrace multi-culturalism by supporting the religion which is the least tolerant of other cultures; Islam's ideology is founded on the belief that God created Islam to rule all other religions.
Islam's position on "multi-culturalism"? It's in the name -- Islam = submission. Other religions have the choice to either submit, or be eradicated.
Wow, what a difference from the docile Middle Eastern immigrants who blow up buses and such. You'd think these Christian immigrants would learn how to make the wheel squeak and get some grease for themselves.
Just wonder how many would if they could.
hmmm...Ten Commandments... “modern society” morals...Ten Commandments...”modern society” morals.
I’ll take the Ten Commandments; they’ve lasted a lot longer than any “modern” societies.
Gosh, complaining about persecution is more militant than seeking out and killing innocents as a form of expression. Goes to show why liberalism is akin to insanity, only more pathetic...
Assimilate to Brits obviously has a different meaning.
Something tells me this man is gay and hates christianity but its justa little hunch...nothing significant.
And Terminally Stupid!
Coming To America very soon.
I don’t see the economy as the number one problem in America.
I see the islamization of America as the number one problem, and you will not hear any current candidates for president speak to this issue. Cain talked a little about it but he has already began back pedaling.
I would if it were only me. Given that I have been charged with the protection of my family, they can saw my head off when the last clip has been ejected, the slide has locked back and the blade has been broken. If they can get close enough for the purpose.
I dont see the economy as the number one problem in America.
I see the islamization of America as the number one problem,
Mark Steyn in “America Alone” nails the problem.
Americans can recover from bad economies, and almost anything else. but 50 years from now, when we have 10 million living here like France has in “no-go” zones, we can’t recover from that.
and Rick Warren and others are already promoting “Chrislam”.
...i worry about the USA in 50 years, when i’m gone.
unless we make changes now.
but as you said, even the triffle Cain said, was shot down immediately.
There are no less than THREE candidates in my immediate community who ARE speaking to this issue:
Mike McAllister (R) running for Bill Nelson’s Senate seat
Adam Hasner (r) “
And Of Course, Congressman West who is running for his second term!
I don’t know if this is repeated around the country, but if now, we have an embarrassment of riches in S. Florida!
I agree with you re: the number one problem.
