Tricia Erickson: 'An indoctrinated Mormon should never be elected as President'
CNN ^ | July 7th, 2011 | Jay Kernis

Posted on 07/08/2011 9:15:31 AM PDT by delacoert

Are you of the opinion that a Mormon should never be elected President?

Yes, it is my opinion that an indoctrinated Mormon should never be elected as President of the United States of America. Indoctrinated temple Mormons (as Romney is) have experienced years of brainwashing and indoctrination and also have made covenants and oaths that they plainly cannot disobey.

Mitt Romney and all temple Mormons have sworn to obey The Law of Consecrationin the secret temple ceremonies which states "You and each of you covenant and promise before God, angels, and these witnesses at the altar, the you do accept the Law of Consecration as contained in The Doctrine and Covenants (a Mormon book), in that you do consecrate yourselves, your time, talents, an everything with which the Lord has bless you, or with which he may bless you, to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormon Church), for the building up of the Kingdom of God on earth and for the establishment of Zion."

Ex-Mormon Ed Decker  reveals the penalty for disobedience that was made by Mitt Romney (and all temple Mormons) at the time he took out his temple endowments: The "execution of the penalty" for disobedience was demonstrated "by placing the thumb under the left ear, the palm of the hand down, and by drawing the thumb quickly across the throat to the right ear, and dropping the hand to the side."

I don’t care if a politician worships Ronald McDonald as long as his religious beliefs are not the deciding factor in his policy decisions, should those beliefs run counter to the presidential oath.

All I know is that America was founded by people fleeing religious persecution.

I agree. I really don't care if Romney is a Mormon. In fact, ALL religions put their faith in a God first. Even our founding fathers had faith in the divine.
Personally, I find Romney repulsive, but it has nothing to do with his faith.

Fine - but mormons don’t believe in the God of Abraham. They believe in millions of Gods that inhabit their own planet.

I’m not suggesting that one should only vote for candidates that are of the same denomination. I’m saying that anyone who has been deceived into believing any wacky religion like Scientiology, Branch Davidians, Mormonism, etc., lacks discernment and therefore doesn’t have the qualities to be a president.

Forecast: Crickets chirping @ CNN should we ever by damned by having a Muslim nominated for president.

Oh, forgot, it’s already happened, has it not?

Obama certainly does not belong to any real religion - so this leaves Islam......

Dunno ‘bout Mormons, but the former governor of one of the “Bluest” states in the Union should not be elected President.
At least not as a ‘Pubbie.
Maybe as a Democrat.

“I don’t have a preferred presidential candidate at this point.”

ok - but you admitted that you’d be willing to vote for an imbecile that worships Ronald McDonald. Obviously, you don’t consider a candidate’s judgement or mental capacity as a factor for support.

“Some anti-Mormons are so bias, they’d rather have Obama serve a 2nd term....”

Whoa! EMT service needed for his post!

“Some Christians are so bias, they’d rather nominate a candidate who isn’t a RINO and who isn’t in a cult ....”

Done!

The reference to the act Romney is associated with sounds very familiar to me. But I am a Mason, not a Mormon. And that is my issue with the religion. Mormonism was patterned almost exactly from the rituals of Masonry. But Masonry isn't a religion. It is a fraternity that played a significant role in founding our nation. George Washington. Benjamin Franklin. And about half the signers of the Declaration of Independence.

I am not a Romney supporter. But my opposition to him has less to do with his religion, and more to do with his chameleon-like positions on the issues.

I have a Mormon friend. He believes in the Trinity. Take about stereotyping and rumor. Sheesh.
We can make an entire list of "wacky" beliefs about any religion if it's not the religion, or lack of, that we believe in.
I just don't think it's a good idea to vote for someone who wants us all beheaded.

GL,
I am NOT voting for another RINO. Not giving money to a RINO. You can. I will not.

If the RINOpublicans nominate a RINO, they will lose. You can pretend they will win
and everyone should support the RINO. In the end, it will be Dole/McCain. Perhaps
they need to repeat this folly again to lose.

If they nominate a RINO, a third party conservative candidate will rise up - probably
Palin. If so, the Republican candidate will lose. Maybe the Independent will lose too
and you will end up electing Obama again.

I’m not interested in that Ground Hog Day. Been there, done it.

I will focus my efforts and contributions on the Senate - race by race. Then I will mourn
for America. People who supported the RINO will mourn too, but with empty pockets.
