Freepers, I have an emergancy prayer request for 8 year old Lucas who is my friend's nephew. He was diagnosed with a large brain tumor this weekend. The tumor is so large that the doctors are expiditing the schedule of his surgery. He is going in TODAY for brain surgery to remove the tumor.
Prayers for Lucas. What a wonderful name.
God Bless Lucas for successful surgery and recovery.

Lucas’s surgery went well for the most part. The surgeon opted to leave approximately 30% of the tumor. This was because it was not distinguishable from the remaining brain tissue. With one so young it is often better to make sure you only get what is known to be tumor and the rest can be treated through other options. The tumor was sent of to be tested to see if it was benign or malignant. The doctor is keeping him in the hospital until they can assess his situation. We are hoping he can come home for the weekend / holiday.
We do not yet know if there will be any lasting effects from the surgery and we are continuing to pray for little Lucas’s recovery.

I so appreciate the update... Lucas has been on my mind since you originally posted. I will still say my prayers for little Lucas... that his tumor is benign, he heals wonderfully and for his parents (I can’t even imagine what stress they are going through). Not that this matters at all... but years ago, there was a little boy in our neighborhood that went through a similar surgery. He is absolutely fine today. Prayers for all involved and thank you for being such a good friend to this family, Taxcontrol!
