Romans 13:1 "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers, For there is not power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God."
Simple. The powers that be is we the people. So says the constitution, the supreme law of the land. B. H. Obama resists the power, so ...

The inspired genius of the founding fathers was in establishing a system where "'til election day" can really be a viable option. You don't have to agree with what Obama does, but for now, the situation is such that it may be possible to overcome the evil of his administration through the ballot box.
Should he be re-elected and take that as a mandate to further his pernicious plans, things might change. Romans 13 is a very important verse and Christians should act counter to its advice only with the greatest trepidation. But Romans 13 needs to be read in light of Jesus' advice in Mark 12:17. Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's and unto God that which is God's.
You do not owe your soul to the government. You do not owe your allegiance to any government which is evil and acts accordingly, especially when it pretends to act in your name. You owe your soul and your allegiance to God alone.
As John Adams put it in April of 1775, before the Revolutionary War,"We recognize no Sovereign but God, and no King but Jesus."
We should not be surprised to see that things may have progressed (regressed?) to such a sorry state. Also from Adams:
"Democracy... while it lasts is more bloody than either aristocracy or monarchy. Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There is never a democracy that did not commit suicide."

According to dictionary.com, one of the definitions for occupy is “to take possession and control of (a place), as by military invasion.”
So, no, Christians shouldn’t sit back and let evil things happen. We humbly seek God’s will and move on it.

Just asking, but am I to interpret Romans 13:1 to mean that if we cannot tolerate the government God has seen fit to let us have, then we have the option to flee as Joseph and Mary did to escape the wrath of Herod?
We have no other choice but to accept whatever else comes till election because our representatives, a.k.a congresscritters, are silent on any matters except those that benefit themselves.
Do what the Lord calls you to do. An angel of the Lord spoke to Joseph in a dream about fleeing to Egypt. If an angel of the Lord tells you to flee, by all means flee. But I am not sure I would get that from Romans 13.
Obama is not subjecting himself to the Constitution. Is that your point?

The invisible power of the angelic air has its abode filled with devils (demonic angels) that hold temporary roles as heads over all governments and states of head in the world, these exist because Satan's plan is to govern the principle of operations in the heavens and try to occupy the thrones that God had set up. Satan's plan to govern is materialized as he affects the administration, national defense international trade, immigration, territory laws, citizens rights, land rights, etc. Satan runs this as a foreign policy and achieves this by strong influence over all affairs of nations, cities, municipality, community, etc.
That is why the course of this world is filled with the like of sinful men like Obama and all humans with their sin nature, lies, wars and murder and illness and sickness: everything that is evil which God never planned for this earth, but Satan is the god of this world, and as that god, he, Satan has failed to managed this earth. That is also why Obama's administration is a display of chaos and evil minded appointments and disregard for the constitutional laws of our Country. Not only does Satan desire to destroy the USA, but so does Obama! And since Obama is working in lock step with the angelic devils, it is no surprise for the actions which Obama does, like these most recent appointments. Do not be disturbed, this course of the god of this world must run its course...together with Obama...but at the right time both of their sessions will come to an end.
