Atheist article calls Tim Tebow a "Christian Taliban"

Tim Tebow is called a "Christian Taliban" by an atheist, comparing Southern Baptists to Muslim fundamentalists. Link to Mindposts article here

Excerpt: "Superstar NFL quarterback Tim Tebow looks like an All-American guy, but he has more in common with the Taliban than with our Founding Fathers.

The press has given Tim an open mic to opine on abortion, virtue, and piety. When will reporters ask Tim to share his views on gay marriage, the subservience of women, the power of the devil, where the dinosaurs too big for the Ark, or the age of the planet?

His overt Christianity has resounded with the American public, most of whom claim to be Christian. The truth is that Tim Tebow’s medieval, fundamentalist, demon fearing, tongues speaking, Christ riding a dinosaur, beliefs are the antithesis of what most Americans believe. In fact, Tim Tebow thinks YOU (and most Americans) are going to Hell."

Answer: when reports ask atheists the statistical probabilities involved in "316" showing up so many times in that last game. And whether they think Tebow either "engineered" them all by himself, or that it's just an odds-defying coincidence.

I may be a squish Episcopalian, but it's pretty clear to me that Someone was sending a message with that.

I don’t listen to atheists on a topic they admittedly know nothing about.

I believe it was back in the mid 80’s a call came in to the “Bible Answer Man” told him: “If Jesus Christ was standing in front of me, I would spit in His face.”

The “Bible Answer Man” was very kind and said: “It has been done before.”

After I thought on that for some time, I realized it would never be done again. They [and we] mocked, railed on Him, and crucified Him; but it will never be done again.

“He was dead, but now He is alive forevermore!”

“I am He that liveth, and was dead, and behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and I have the keys of hell and death.” (Revelation 1:18)

The fact that Tim Tebow chooses to live a live of obedience to God is a constant reminder to them of the very real possibility that there is indeed a God, and that the Scriptures may be true, and that part about everyone having to face God one day and give an account of his life may include them and that day won't turn out well for them at all.

Christians are called by God to be the "salt of the earth" just for this reason. To serve as a conviction to those who are perishing, and cause some of those people to come to Christ for salvation.

At the risk of contradicting myself, Why do we elevate these atheists to be worthy of note and comment?

Because they are clear and present danger to freedom of religion and freedom of speech in this country.

If they aren’t in the courts trying to ban a Christmas Crèche in the town square they are using ridicule in a bar or some other public place to make being a Christian publicly unfashionable.

But worse than that these Atheist are most often cowards when it comes to really fighting the hard battles for their convictions. They will not fight against the real Taliban at work in this country few of them will stand against CARE or The Muslim Brotherhood when they are promoting their faith.

No we must not let these attacks against Christian celebrities go unanswered because if we do they and the general public see silence as acceptance of such behavior as the social norm.

This is a Christian country and if we wish it to remain so we must fight against those are fighting to make it an Atheist nation. If it becomes an Atheist nation it will not remain one long because the Muslims are waiting in the wings to fill the void.

This is another example of why Tebow`s open expressions of faith are causing the godless types discomfort. If they`re so firm and confident in their disbelief in God, why wouldn`t they be laughing all this off as an exercise in futility, since — in their opinion — God doesn`t exist anyway?

But the fact is, this young man is an openly devout Christian.. offering prayer at any given time, even before 90,000 onlookers and on national TV.. and great numbers of Americans respond positively. And that threatens their agenda of destroying this nation`s Judeo-Christian underpinnings.

And even deeper than that, as the atheists` anger at Tebow rises, and he gets under their collective skin even deeper, I believe he`s starting to sow doubts among some and causing them to reexamine their core belief system... because they`re just... not... quite... sure.

So the attacks on Tebow grow shriller. He needs to be very careful about his actions and with whom he associates, because the forces of the secularist dark side see him as an enemy who must be stopped. If the secularists can`t find dirt on him, they`ll create it.

Yep. And if Tebow had engineered them all by himself, he`d have needed help from the Steelers. Pittsburgh`s time of possession in that game: 30:16.

“Christ riding a dinosaur”

The least this guy could do is actually understand what he is trying to condemn. But that would probably require something called thought.

Job 41:
1 “Can you draw out Leviathan with a fishhook
or press down his tongue with a cord?
2 Can you put a rope in his nose
or pierce his jaw with a hook?
3 Will he make many pleas to you?
Will he speak to you soft words?
4 Will he make a covenant with you
to take him for your servant forever?
5 Will you play with him as with a bird,
or will you put him on a leash for your girls?
6 Will traders bargain over him?
Will they divide him up among the merchants?
7 Can you fill his skin with harpoons
or his head with fishing spears?
8 Lay your hands on him;
remember the battle—you will not do it again!
9 Behold, the hope of a man is false;
he is laid low even at the sight of him.
10 No one is so fierce that he dares to stir him up.
Who then is he who can stand before me?
11 Who has first given to me, that I should repay him?
Whatever is under the whole heaven is mine.

The difference: Being Christian, Tim believes in love while the Taliban believes in hate, torment, torture, condemnation and so on and so forth. The author is a fool of the worst sort. May the Holy Spirit seek out the author and turn him to Christ.

And another thing, it doesn’t matter if Tim thinks most Americans are headed for hell (which with their porning, and fornicating and lying and stealing they might be). what matters is after most Americans croak, where they end up according to God on Judgment Day.
