Well, if you’re not Catholic, why are you taking issue with what Catholics do? The bible is almost devoid of any descriptions of rituals; does that mean the bible opposes rituals? Someone better tell St. James, because about 1,950 years ago he penned a very elaborate ritual called the Liturgy of St. James, which is still the liturgy of Antioch and Jerusalem... you know... the earliest headquarters of the apostles? Also, in Ethiopia and India. Go figure.
