Here in CT the Methodist church is very liberal.. He probably never believed and was just playing church. Many evangelicals playing church today (Matt. 7:21-23)

A new favorite quote.

“Various are the pleas and arguments which men of corrupt minds frequently urge against yielding obedience to the just and holy commands of God.”

-Reverend George Whitfield (one of America's forgotten founders)

Oh pleeze. Satan is everywhere.

Is it any worse here than in the God-forsaken country of Pakistan, or Iran, or Haiti.....?

I think not.

While I agree that God is very displeased with the lack of morality in our country, I don’t think it is the government’s job to lecture on morality. Our churches have failed us in that area.

As a devout member of the LCMS, we are very proud of Martin Luther who certainly did what he HAD to do.

Hey, but you Catholics have come a long, long, long way since. God bless you all for doing so well now. And love your new pope but especially love the new candidate for president..

Dude... your way, way off... It was not my point to insult but to make a point from an evangelical point of view. Are not all evangelicals heritics???

My denomination… was formed on Pentecost (Acts 2). Put down your traditions and pick up the Book (Matt 15:1-10). Your trusting in “your church’s spiritual philosophy and not the Holy Scriptures when it comes to ETERNAL salvation. We have many things in common but the difference on how salvation from sin and Almighty God’s wrath is received is an ETERNAL fixed gulf between us.

Believers have been around a lot longer than Luther and the Catholic church… If you believed Peter and Paul you would believe like me and other evangelicals Read the book of Roman’s and 1, 2 Peter. In all honesty, I was just pointing out our differences. There are many FR evangelicals that believe like me. But I did FULLY agree with Rick Santorum’s statement.

For a Catholic (an apostate Christian philosophy)

I suppose you have a special "in" with somebody that gives you the authority to post this?

No, not at all.... It is not to provoke but a position that evangelicals hold. Do not you and Catholics think this way of evangelicals? Are we not all heretics and apostates? We have many of the same beliefs but the most crucial and biggest divide of all is how to obtain ETERNAL salvation (Rom. 10:2-4). Please do not try to act so offended when you and other Catholics speech this way of evangelicals all the time on FR. Again this post wasn’t meant to make one offended it was given from an evangelical perspective and position.

I feel very fortunate for having my faith built on experience of both the power and presense God and the power and presense of evil. It’s probably because God knew my faith is weak and I needed that proff so I would not grow up to be a liberal. In the void, it’s so much easier to go with the flow.

Santorum is not all that crazy about small government, social conservatives. They did not support him and he lost re-election over Arlen Spector.

Rick is a “social justice” guy.

The truth is, people who have faith in Him and have not had physical confirmation, are much better Christians than me. I was a loser looking for another place to screw up when God whacked me out of pure mercy. I surely did not deserve it. But, man, am I thankful. I needed it because I am basically, left to my own means, a total ass. Once you know, you can not forget unless you want to be a bigger ass than me.

In my entire life I have never heard any Catholic refer to any non-Catholic as an heretic or apostate.

Wow my friend that is amazing... that is probably because many Catholics see their faith in a relativistic way and many do not adhere to the sound doctrines of the Catholic Church. That was the case growing up Catholic. There are however the Santorum types that do hold that view and are fundamental Catholics.

No offence my friend I LOVE the Catholic people the conservative ones…. LoL They are my neighbors, family, friends etc.. But in the end we need to know Jesus and the way of salvation dictated by the Holy Scriptures alone. That is the cross roads in many Catholic live. I was there and I chose the Bible.

All the best!
