Excellent account. This is what happens when a person tries to accomplish by their own strength what the Holy Spirit should be doing. Why is this so common in Mormonism? Because the "Church" of Latter-Day Saints doesn't have the Holy Spirit and is spiritual dead.

Walter Martin was spot on in his observation of talking with Mormons about spiritual matters 'is like describing a rainbow to someone who has been blind since birth.' Of course, Scripture says the same thing: "The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned." 1 Corinthians 2:14
