As a United Methodist ordained minister, I really wish the liberals in my denomination wouldn’t be given air time by the Roman Catholics. These liberals in my denomination support open abortion, gay marriage, reimagined scripture, gay and female ordination, and religious syncretism.

Why on earth the RCC would be granting them any credibility at all really blisters me.

Seems as though the Renewal movement is actually gaining some traction in the UMC. I was a subscriber to “Good News” back in the early 90s when it was just getting started. Lotta good stuff came out of Wilmore, KY.

I think they're confused about who really represents the UMC. Quite frankly, until I met you, I was of the opinion of mbarker12474 : that If you are a member of a United Methodist Church, or contribute to a United Methodist Church, you are a member of or contribute to the Progressive Left. -- whoever went to this conference on the Church's side seems to have not even known that.

My previous experience of Methodists was surprisingly only in the UK where they were shockingly liberal -- and the disrespect for the eucharist was apparent -- the hosts were passed around like candy and some that were dropped on the floor were swept away -- and the remainder was actually tossed into the waste. For a Catholic, even if we do not believe that this was consecrated, it showed intense disrepect to the Lord. I don't understand why the USCCB did this unless if it was to get political support against Obama. the statement seems to say nothing at all quite frankly

May I share something with you?

A good friend, devout in his Methodist belief, he recognizes
a lot of things Roman Catholic. He attends a Methodist
retreat for men each year, a copy of the Catholic Crosio.

I think he understands about the Real Presence, Our Lord
in the Eucharist but he won’t come all the way. Convert.
I know, I know, it’s God’s grace but if only....

This is my PO, I think Methodists will rush forward to
receive the Eucharist after the “awakening”, the Great
Warning. Methodists are open to Catholicism, more than
any of our brothers and sisters in Christ, say maybe
Episcopalians.
