Do You Know how to be SAVED?

Most of will say... YES - of course! If we're a Christian, we want to be very ready to share the good news. If you're not then this is the most important thing you can find out. Either way, I encourage you to read below...

Most of us think that if we stay on the straight and narrow we just might make it though those pearly gates. Sadly most people don’t know exactly how to be saved. The majority of people overall believe they will be in heaven when they die someday because they strive to be a good person. We are all born into this world with a sin nature and our life needs to be changed. (Romans 3:23) No amount of good works will allow you to spend eternity with God unless you give your heart to Him. (Ephesians 2:8-9) You must believe that God sent His son Jesus to pay the penalty for your sins. John 3:16. Jesus Christ loved you so much that He suffered unimaginable cruelty, mockery, humiliation, and death on the cross. He rose from the dead on the 3rd day. He subjected Himself willingly for you and me so we could have eternal life. God the Father wants a relationship with you. You don’t need to understand it all right this moment. Will you put your faith in Him and Him alone? Please do not put this off. If you feel that God is calling you to come to Him then these two prayers below could be a good example of how to talk/pray to Him... (please proceed using link to full article - as this is an excerpt)

The blood of Christ. Certainly not us keeping the law. The grace of God.

Amen, the grace of God by Jesus Christ that saves sinners who come to Him and believe and confess how that He was crucified for our sins and rose again the third day for our justification is just incredible and amazing. Imputed righteousness atoned by His blood at Calvary is so incredible that I can scarce comprehend this grace that saves sinners.

1Thess. 1:2-4
2 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers, 3 remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father, 4 knowing, beloved brethren, your election by God.

James 2:23-25
23 “And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God. 24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.

25 Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way?”

1John 2:3-5
3 “Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.”

Romans 2:12-14
12 For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without law, and as many as have sinned in the law will be judged by the law 13 (for not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified; 14 for when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves,

James 1:21-23
21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror;

Romans 3:30-31
“30 since there is one God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith. 31 Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law.”

John 12:46-48
46 I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness. 47 And if anyone hears My words and does not believe I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. 48 He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.

Romans 1:15-17
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

James 2:21-26
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? 23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”[a] And he was called the friend of God. 24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.

25 Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way?

26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Salvation is by grace and grace alone.

Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

I'm guessing your post was to try to say that good works and following the commandments is necessary to be saved.

If we could do that Jesus needn't have died for our sins and you would do well to check out the audience and the context of the passages.

If you have another reason for the passages, please let me know - I'm always open to learning more about my God and my Savior.

“The blood of Christ. Certainly not us keeping the law. The grace of God.”

Amen! It’s all grace.

Romans 3:20 “Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”

Romans 3:28 “Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.”

Most of us think that if we stay on the straight and narrow we just might make it though those pearly gates.

Dear God I hope not. We are save by Grace, through Faith, for Works. I'd be really shocked if most of us thought we were saved BY works.

In looking at your posting history it appears that you are using this site as a means to generate hits on your blog.

Since you are the author of this article, then you don't need to excerpt it.

I believe that it is against forum rules to post vanity threads and then excerpt them to require Freepers to visit your blog to get the rest of the article.

Either post the whole article, or don't post any of it.

Are you here to interact and discuss your musings with fellow freepers, or are you here just to generate hits on your blog?

How do we know we are saved?

Our regenerated human spirit and life with Him.

We know Him through faith in Christ.

He has provided this as a method for us to know Him and have fellowship with Him.

It isn’t merely a soulish or physical perception. It is spiritual life.

Sometimes, for some believers there may also be other manifestations of salvation, but lacking a particular spiritual gift or a particular experience doesn’t imply lack of life as each believer fits into God’s Plan with a unique set of gifts and part of His Plan.

Likewise, do not confuse His Presence and Sovereignty,..His Will to act as evidence of your salvation. Rather, through faith in Him, receive what He provides for our salvation and He is sure and just to forgive past sins, freely giving those who believe everlasting life.

I was thinking along similar lines last night, but deleted it.

A plan of salvation, just a couple of prayers to read, only one web-link away?

Why hold back? Afraid of Freepers? Not part of the marketing plan? Which of the suggested ministries to go visit offers remuneration for traffic guided their way? Web pages take time, effort and some money to maintain, ok, we know that, but get real with us here. Be genuine, be a human being, or leave us alone.

What does the bible "say" ?

Acts 2:37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”

38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off —for all whom the Lord our God will call.”

40 With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” 41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.

The Fellowship of the Believers

42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Also known as the Old Sin Nature.

The anthropology of man was perfect in body, soul, and spirit with the first man, Adam, and also with the second Adam, our Lord Christ Jesus. Eve was made from Adam prior to the fall also perfect in body, soul, and spirit.

All other humans throughout human history inherited from Adam after the fall a separation of the spirit from the living God. This was not per God’s Plan and was due to Adam’s sin in the Garden of Eden.

Consequently, every other human being throughout human history is born with an “old sin nature”.

The old sin nature is not to be confused with propensity to perform good or evil, but instead focuses on our relationship with God.

When a human exercises faith through Christ, it is recognized as something righteous by God, who is now free through grace to regenerate our human spirit, and in this Church Age He immediately indwells the new believer in the regenerated human spirit.

The old sin nature remains in us, even as believers, influencing both our body and soul. Through faith in Christ, while we are in fellowship with Him, God then slowly begins to sanctify us, slowly changing our scarred souls and improving our heart, as we grow in Him.
