Not quite sure where you are coming from or headed.

“That is no basis for condemnation. It is a universal trait and I daresay describes you and yours as well as Mormons”.

I’m not condemning nor do I believe it is a universal trait.
Mormons are not a closed society, especially in a disaster/shtf situation.

...and I ought to know!

Once you look deeper, the only rational response is to be horrified.

Because you have in you neither charity or reason.

My children are being raised among them, and I couldn't be happier. There is such a strong anti mormonism sentiment on FR that it has been rather confusing to me. I was raised with a lot of mormons. 2 of my best friends in high school were from devout mormon families and I rather invied their lives. These kids never had a chance to get into any trouble because there just wasn't any idle time left. Every weekend and many week nights were filled with soft ball games, volley ball, dances, dinners, plays, parties, choir practices and performances, study groups. They even had seminary classes at 6 am before school. All of their energy was channeled into something constructive and character building. My grandmother was in nursing home near their church and the kids my age were routinely in the nursing home visiting the patients and bringing small handmade gifts. Real class acts. While the religion is not for me the result of strong families is something I've always admired.

A real exposure exposure like yours and mine cures ignorance doesn't it.

My family is prone to alcoholism so I am going to send my boys to BYU because it is such a healthy environment! I'd rather send them to Hillsdale but I can't afford the entry fee, Mormons want to make sure college is affordable.

Romney was my last choice but today he is our only choice.

Not exactly, writeins are still legal.

Yes Itsashot, you are free to a protest vote but as my protest vote in 1992 got us Bill Clinton, protest voters in 2012 will give us four more years of Barack Obama.

I wouldn't think anyone on this forum would want a lifetime of ObamaCare, gun control, religious organization being mandated to provide birth control etc.

Yes, appealingly to ideologues is a fools errand but as I stated in the article it is too important for our progeny for you to vote against them! When I was a fly-fishing guide I had the opportunity to fish with a lawyer from Ronald Reagans Kitchen Cabinet, I told him of my mistake of my protest vote. He said: Yes I understand, many did as you did but here is something to remember - Sometimes we may not like the candidate of our party but we must always vote the party line because what we are really voting for is the lifelong appointments of the Supreme Court judges each president will make.

I remember this lesson and I have minded this wise council from a man that Ronald Reagan listened to.

Check out the Photographs on Daryl's Blog! Brilliant and mesmerising!

Thanks Moose07, I am privileged to not only live where the people are great, but also where the landscape and wildlife are not far from my lens :D

A photo I got of Dick Cheney while fishing with him in 1996

Another photo of Dick in 2008

A fantastical, surface level assumption based on no idea of what Mormonism actually is and teaches.

I am glad that my deism hasn't robbed me of my common sense as evidently has happened to many evangelicals who would rather have Obama for another four years than a financial genius and his VP who is the most brilliant planner for the recovery of our economy there in in Washington!

Pray tell Wita, what do you hope to accomplish in your next four years of the Obama reign of the wrecking of America?

So, no thanks. I’m not going to lie or be silent about Mormonism to appease you.

RaisingCain, Barack Obama, Valerie Jarrett, and David Axelrod thank you for your support!

“So RaisingCain, you prefer Obama?”

What does that have to do with the cult of Mormonism?

This is about the presidency not about Mormonism!

The choice is simple, do you want four more years of the possible muslim who has proven to be antithetical to Christianity, or do you want to roll the dice for a financial genius who will save our country trillions of dollars of idiotic spending?

If you are willing to risk the welfare of your children and mine because of your disdain for those who you disagree with about dogma, you are free to do so but if you do please refrain from complaining on this form of what Obama does in his second four years!

And Obama thanks you for your vote, too. He wins either way.

Obama wins either way.

Obama only wins if you and other dogmatic evangelical ideologues don't vote the republican line and allow him to screw our progeny for another four years!

By the way, how have you liked the last four years? Do you want four more?

Take a look!

“I have no idea what you’re even arguing about.”

That’s obvious. The claim was based on Congressional voting patterns and you brought Romney into it. Like a discussion of Jockeys and mentioning a NASCAR driver.

It’s a false premise. Mitt Romney is not a “financial genius,” just see his record in MA. You’re just putting forth propaganda to convince people that Mormonism isn’t a cult (because Mitt Romney happens to be a Mormon leader) because you want your “financial genius” to be President. But there is no evidence that any of Mitt Romney’s accolades are actually real. Not even the character he presents can be verified. Actually, it can be easily verified to be very poor. The evidence is in his pathological lying about his own record and about other people, especially throughout the primary. You want me to vote for someone who is incredibly immoral, but that’s a difficult argument to make so you throw up these distractions.

If we were debating about Glenn Beck, this argument would be very different. My position on Mormonism would be the same, but I’d probably consider voting for Beck over Obama. But this isn’t Beck or any “conservative” Mormon. It’s about a man who is as perverse as the highest Apostle and Prophet in the LDS.

“Pray tell Wita, what do you hope to accomplish in your next four years of the Obama reign of the wrecking of America?”

Is that a rhetorical question? In a word, SURVIVE. Myself and the Republic. BUT hope, says it won’t come to that because the administration and its unvetted boss won’t survive the next election. Metaphorically speaking of course.

PS: It is a little difficult to know whether I am being pimped, prodded, poked, pacified, peed on, or worse, based on the question. If it isn’t clear, a vote for anyone other than Obama, or a non vote, is exactly as you have stated, a protest vote that does nothing but allow the stacking of the Supreme court, with exactly what we don’t want or need, if he who is being protested, loses. A point seemingly lost on the less than one percent of freepers in the tank for Obama.

I often agree with you dogmatic evangelical ideologues but not in this case, the bigotry shown in this tread, if widespread, puts this country at risk.

Like it or not, Romney is Obama's opponent, and it is time to concentrate on a universal truth.

My enemy is your enemy, therefore you are my friend!

If Obama is your friend and ally against the Mormons, radical evangelical ideologues are no different or rational than islamist ideologues!

Sorry Wita for the misunderstanding , I didn't see your comment was pointed to RaisingCain, and RaisingCain's quote wasn't italicized.

That worked out well with the decision to side with Stalin over Hitler. We won the death of hunderds of millions of innocent people the communists hated and got to have a cold war for decades. As you can see, the Marxist ideology we empowered is currently bringing down our own country.

Sometimes the best solution is, just nuke ‘em all. None of them support the constitution/rule of law.

Well Sara, voting against Romney is just as good as a nuke for our economy and the welfare of our children!

Follow your heart ideologue because it seems as though your brain ain't working right.

itsahoot - how do you feel about that write in vote now?
