Is it really appropriate for Beck to be talking about the underwear his WIFE wears?

When I used to listen to him, he would go into a defensive, emotional rant if someone called in with a less-than-flattering opinion of Mormonism. Now here he is teaching Mormon 101. What’s going to be his reaction if everyone doesn’t eat it up?

Glen Beck explains?

Mormon History?? Now that will be a bomb. Had many Mormon friends when I lived in NM. Nice clean respectable people.

The history of their church, I won’t go there. No sane person will believe what they say they believe.

But in Beck’s book “The Christmas Shoes” he explains Catholcism.

He was brought up Catholic — only became a Mormon for his wife.

I’m saying your point is irrelevant.

Romney winning in November is what’s important, not what church he attends.

Glenn Beck sounds like he knows next to nothing about the origins of Mormonism. His claim that polygamy (plural marriage) had something to do with repopulating the Mormon flock after it ha been decimated by Christian oppressors ignores the fact that Joseph Smith, the guy who made up the whole religion was engaging in plural marriage long before there was any Mormon religion or Mormon community for anyone to oppress.

The truth is that Joseph Smith was a sexual predator both before and after he dreamed up the whole Mormon religion. In fact, he created the Mormon religion because Christianity and American Christians in particular would not tolerate his deviant sexual behavior. Rather than conform his conduct to Christian standards, he chose to make up the Mormon religion so that his wife and others could not condemn him for his sexual perversions. He then promoted to positions of leadership other church members, including Brigham Young (known by his peers as Bringem Young) who shared Smith's tastes for perversion. Young wound up with some 55 wives.

Glenn Beck should read more about the origins of the religion he claims to have adopted. So should his wife.

In the religion section, on a thread about a prominent conservative talk radio host promoting Mormonism, you tell us that my point is irrelevant.

Your post was irrelevant, not mine.

Nonsense. Romney is not running against a Christian; he’s running against Obama.

In my life time, there have been two presidents who I considered to be Christian - Eisenhauer and GW Bush.

Whatever else is said about it, I know it is an American religion.

Does it have problems and quirks? Oh yeah.

Does it need a "reformation" like the Christian church needed in the days of Martin Luther or like Islam needs today in order to be a religion of peace and not a theocratic-political-cultural system of conquering and domination? Nope.

Just my opinion.

Any cult started in America is “an American religion”, there must thousands of them, Scientology for instance, it is not related to Christianity at all, for one thing it has countless Gods, even Mitt Romney himself believes that he will become a God and rule over a planet of worshipers, just like our God is to us.

Good job in explaining how Mormonism is nothing more than a cult.

Like all other false religions, Mormonism will bring its followers straight to hell with Joseph Smith, Mohammed, Buddha, Moon (left for hell just the other day), and any other anti-Christ that decides to create a false religion born straight out of hell.

For the first time in my life we have to cultists running for the office of president. I thank God that I am hiring a business executive instead of a pastor.

That being said, Romney may or may not be a good president, only time will tell. Regardless of how bad he may be, I know how bad Obama is, and as Clint so eloquently put it,
“We own this country, and the Politicians are employees of ours. When somebody does not do the job, you've got to let them go.”

"Obama? Your Time Is UP!"

Thanks but I cannot take credit. It came from a wonderful web site called Bible Questions Answered. They have a very nice site and have lots of answers to lots of Bible questions. Check it out. Covers all the cults and so called “religions.”

Agreed, whatever one thinks of Mormons or Mormonism, the adherents are American and love America. Period.

Our choices are Obama or Romney, regardless of what the third party candidate voters would like to admit.

So essentially, if you love this country there is only one choice for president, Romney.

I tend to think of Romney as life support. This country could very well suffer a fatality if Obama is reelected, but with Romney, we can sustain it so that we may yet save it.

There is certainly a danger that more people will gravitate to Mormonism with a Mormon as president.
