Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Abraham passed the Ultimate Test. He really DID regard YHVH as His "Adonai". His LORD.

Adonai, Is A Title of Sovereignty and Respect, Dignitary and Majesty, and Lordship Over All. It is the Plural Form of "Adon" which means Father, or Lord.

The plural form Adonai, like the plural form Elohim, is regularly used with singular verbs and modifiers, so it is best to construe the Name as an “emphatic plural” or “plural of majesty.” This Usage occurs over 300 times in the Old Testament.

Early Jewish Scholars ensured that the sacred Name of the LORD YHVH would not be taken in vain by putting the vowel marks for Adonai under the letters in the text. They did this to remind the reader to pronounce Adonai regardless of the consonants in the text (YHVH). However, Adon and Adonai also appear as Names of God in the Hebrew.

A Modern Day Practice among Devout Jewish People is to take the Vowels OUT of God's Name. We see this sometimes right here on FR...(G-d, or L-rd). This is a respectful habit to ensure that even in the electronic media, the Holy Name will not be erased or profaned.

Come and pray For The Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Country.

Blessings to All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer

Lord of eternity,
Mystery behind the veil,
Lord over heaven and earth,
God of Israel.
Come with Your wisdom and power,
Clothed in Your honor and strength,
Lord, hear the cry of our hearts,
Come, O conquering King!
And every eye will see
Your glory fill the sky...

chorus
Adonai! Adonai!
Every knee will bow to You,
Lord Most High!
Adonai! Adonai!
You alone are God
Every tongue will cry,
Adonai!

Lord of eternity,
Mystery behind the veil,
Lord over heaven and earth,
God of Israel.
Come with Your wisdom and power,
Clothed in Your honor and strength,
Lord, hear the cry of our hearts,
Come, O conquering King!
And every eye will see
Your glory fill the sky...

chorus

Here Jerusalem waits,
Praises lifted on high.
Here the beautiful gates
Long to see you arise!
When all of Zion sings,
“Blessed Is the Lord!”

chorus

bridge
You are Lord over all the earth;
You are Lord over all the earth.
(3x)

chorus

The I AM that I AM. ............all encompassing, all knowing, knowing the future, and ever present, O LORD God Jehovah. I am a bit confused by how the name is hidden and protected, like a secret. The LORD will protect His Name. We would be foolish to suppose the events of History are successful in hiding the name of GOD. The LORD watches over His Word/Scriptures to fulfill. O LORD help the believers to know Truth. We pray for the peace of Israel, Jerusalem, for the persecuted believers, the lost, and seek blessings and forgiveness, in Jesus name, amen.

Praise the LORD in all we do moment to moment. Without God we can do no thing, Amen.

The plural form Adonai, like the plural form Elohim, is regularly used with singular verbs and modifiers, so it is best to construe the Name as an “emphatic plural” or “plural of majesty.”

I've often wondered about that. Considering that Genesis (like all the other books in the Bible) is God-inspired, is it possible that it actually refers to the Trinity? Think about it, God as one (singular verb) and God as three (plural noun). JMHO
