In this exclusive interview, Cliff Kincaid speaks with author Carol Byrne, whose "book has been seen as a 'wake-up call' not only for modern Catholics, but also for American citizens." Dr. Byrne first explains how the Bishops' vote on Day was not "unanimous" and how the erroneous claim started. She describes the leftist anti-Catholic organizations supported by the Catholic Campaign for Human Development. She identifies three well-known "conservative" Catholics who support Day's cause. Finally, Dr. Byrne advises what Catholics can and should do about the process of making Dorothy Day a saint. Also available at the same site--and pertinent to the debate--is the letter sent to Benedict XVI by Virginia State Senator Richard Black on Day's cause.

There is a strong segment of the church that believes so strongly in “social justice” that it willingly votes for marxists who give us gay “marriage,” abortion, and birth-control.

Archbishop Charles Chaput does well on this subject in his 2008 book, “Render Unto Caeser”.

I have less of a problem with her past abortion since plenty of women have realized the horror of their actions & later repented. What I do have a problem with is her ongoing encouragement of communism without later renouncing that as evil. That is the problem.

Reading the reviews on Amazon. This author is a rad trad, self published(not even published by the traditionalist SSPX publishing arm: Angelus Press). The book has no citations to back up what she says. Additionally the author is a regular contributor to the 'Tradition in Action' website(rad trads)

Note: SSPX, radical traditionalist frequently diverge from the Pope and the Catholic Church on a whole host of issues!

So if you want a self-published book with a radical traditionalist point of view(SSPX) and opinion not even challenged by a publisher, then this is your book.

What's that, you say? Socialism in the Catholic Church? Whodathunkit!
