The title of this post is very deceiving. I made me think that Pope Francis snubbed Cardinal Law by violating a particular rule. In this case it refers to a Cardinal named Cardinal Bernard Francis Law of Boston who resigned from his leadership at Boston when it was learned that he failed to remove sexual predator priests from their pastoral posts in the archdiocese. Now, the pope is adding to Law’s disgrace by having him removed from his “honorary” position at the Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore, in Rome. This is a good action from Pope Francis.

The only misgivings is the report I heard that Pope Francis is a proponent for Social Justice. I would be curious what kind of Social Justice he is on board with.

He thinks he should help the poor... he donated the Bishop’s Palace in Buenos Ares to a mission that had no money.

He rejects collectivism, such as liberation theology and act consistently with Paragraph 1885 in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

Pope Francis Linked to Anti-Marxist ‘Comunione e Liberazione’ Organization
Bergoglio is an accomplished theologian who distanced himself from liberation theology early in his career. He is thought to be close to Comunione e Liberazione, a conservative lay movement.
