Jimmy Carter Accuses Catholic Church of Human Rights Abuse for Not Ordaining Women

In an interview today with Swampland Jimmy Carter, the second worst president in US history, said the failure of the Catholic Church to ordain women was human rights abuse. He also compared the Catholic Church to Islam. and Acts of Apostasy reported, via Free Republic:

It’s not news when irrelevant people spout irrational opinions, because it happens nearly all the time, but hey – it’s been a slow day.

From Swampland:

Let’s get right to it. This week the Carter Center’s Mobilizing Faith for Women conference will ask the question, “Can religion be a force for women’s rights instead of a source of women’s oppression?” What’s your answer?

Well, religion can be, and I think there’s a slow, very slow, move around the world to give women equal rights in the eyes of God. What has been the case for many centuries is that the great religions, the major religions, have discriminated against women in a very abusive fashion and set an example for the rest of society to treat women as secondary citizens. In a marriage or in the workplace or wherever, they are discriminated against. And I think the great religions have set the example for that, by ordaining, in effect, that women are not equal to men in the eyes of God.

This has been done and still is done by the Catholic Church ever since the third century.....

“As you may or may not know, the Southern Baptist Convention back now about 13 years ago in Orlando, voted that women were inferior....”

Sure they did. Right. That’s what it was, for sure. Yeah.

“This has been done and still is done by the Catholic Church ever since the third century, when the Catholic Church ordained that a woman cannot be a priest for instance but a man can.”

I wonder what he thinks this gibberish means.

There is a certain advantage in not feeling constrained to think about anything beyond your own experiences and predilections when you speak. The drawback, of course, is that you only resonate with the similarly self-absorbed.

The word “senile” fits the bill.

This is about abortion. The Democrats need to destroy the Church because it is the single largest opponent of the unjust mass killing of early stage innocent humans. The urgency becomes greater as science and imaging increasingly reveal the obvious humanity of the unborn. Obama is leading the way with his HHS and IRS as the instruments of persecution. Just last week Obama said that Catholic education is divisive. Jimmy is about as irrelevant as one can get. He just wants to pile on to get attention. He pretends to be a Baptist but is as big a baby killer as any of the other Democrats.

Who knew? Billy really was the smarter one! And had the grace to let the American people be at a mere 51 years.

...move around the world to give women equal rights in the eyes of God

Women already have equal rights in the eyes of God. God made us male and female for a reason. Difference among genders isn't inequality among genders, though some will claim such for political purposes.

Actually Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton formed their own Baptist labelled religious group (New Baptist Covenant) a few years after Carter renounced and left the Southern Baptists.

"In October 2000, Carter again made headlines with his widely-publicized decision to leave the Southern Baptist Convention. Carter sent out over 75,000 letters to Southern Baptist churches nationwide explaining his decision."

"In April 2006, Carter, former-President Bill Clinton and Mercer University President Bill Underwood initiated the New Baptist Covenant."

I accuse that maggot Carter of human rights abuse by failing miserably to discharge his responsibilities as POTUS and failing to respond to the taking of our Embassy staff by the Islamists working under the orders of the Ayatollah Khomeini.

I'm at a loss as to how this outrage of over thirty years ago differs from the outrage that occurred in Benghazi nine months ago.

And he calls the Catholic Church out for not ordaining women?

How about calling out the so-called "Religion of Peace" out for fourteen centuries of abuse of women?

Female circumcision, "honor" killings, executions of rape victims who couldn't find four male witnesses to support their complaint?

And the Republicans are accused of waging a war against women?

We're surely in 1984. Interesting that in calendar year 1984 we were basking in the sunshine of the Reagan Administration.

One of President Reagan's earliest acts was to allow the maggot Carter to go to Iran and join the freed hostages on their way home.

Have any of the Leftists who have come into power lately extended that kind of courtesy? Hell no! Five years into the benighted Obama Regime, all they can do is blame Bush!

It may seem to some to have gotten off topic, but to bring it back home, Obama had the unmitigated to stand on Irish soil and blame Catholic education for "divisiveness" in Northern Ireland.

He needs education on what happened in Ireland through seven heroic centuries. There were not only crossroad dancers, there were Shanachies and Hedgerow priests who kept the ancient lore, traditions, and Religion brought to us by Saint Patrick, fostered by Saint Colm Cille, and preserved for us and all by a host of anonymous Irish monks in cold, inhospitable scriptoria in the British Isles and throughout Europe in the First Millennium.

This is the Tradition that was given to us, the Tradition that our Fathers fought for, and which we now must defend. This is the the Truth that was taught to me by selfless nuns dedicated to nothing but the Truth of God.

It is not just the "Catholic" Tradition of which I speak, it is the Christian Tradition that we all uphold - Catholic or Protestant.

It is under attack now as it has been for 14 centuries. And the secularists in our society are in lock-step with the Islamists. They have no clue of what awaits them.

I care not what others may say - I will die as I have lived - a Disciple of Christ and a proud citizen of the United States of America. And to Hell with the Carters, Kerrys and other traitors who seek to bring us down. i am old and weak, bit mu blood still runs strong, my blade is sharp, and my powder is dry.

Here I am and here I stay!

“For you are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:26-28)

Yep. I was changing channels earlier tonight when i came across a show about Jim Jones. The MC said he had denied Jesus existed and claimed that name for himself. I knew JJ was off his rocker but had no idea about that claim. How can people be taken in by someone like him? I just do not understand.
