The assault on America’s churches has begun, with commentators like Dylan Matthews of the Washington Post and Matthew Yglesias of Slate calling on the government to tax churches. “Whichever faith you think is the one true faith, it’s undeniable that the majority of this church-spending is going to support false doctrines,” Yglesias wrote on Thursday. He added, “upgrading a church’s physical plant doesn’t enhance the soul-saving capacity of its clergy.”
This is part of the new assault on religion in America that has seen its apex in the New Mexico Supreme Court decision to force religious photographers to cover same-sex weddings, and the California legislature’s bill that would strip non-profit status from any religious organization that “discriminates” on the basis of factors including religion or sexual orientation. The fundamental basis for this assault lies in the left’s core belief that religion in America is a net negative, and that the state has no interest whatsoever in forwarding the religion broadly throughout the country. Yglesias’ theory that religions are mutually exclusive misses the point – Judeo-Christian religion fosters morality among members of the public. The founders understood that truth, Americans historically understood that truth, and the left wishes to undermine that truth. Separation of church and state, according to the left, means that the state not only must be banned from fostering religion of any sorts, but that the state must override private religious practice on behalf of secularism.
The Post’s Matthews quickly followed up on Yglesias’ piece by suggesting that Americans are dupes for handing their charitable contributions over to their churches.....

How ironic that Matthew Yglesias is speaking out against churches. I think one of the common Spanish words for Church would be the word IGLESIAS.
One could be named Moses ben Israel or Christopher Paxson and still be a hard-core leftist atheist.
And they don’t say anything to liberals giving to nefarious causes ? shame shame on them.

A house church where the pastor is paid with donated food, clothes and meals at parishioners homes. How long before they devise a way to tax that?

“You may not clap real loud for this,
but at least hear me out and think about

that it may be time to quit worrying so
much about the tax code and start think-

God.”

This was inevitable.
Most ‘churches’ out there are vanity projects for ‘preachers’ with God complexes...who preach doctrines of homosexuality and the DNC platform.
And people still have not woken up to the fact that it was done intentionally, bu the DNC/Libs for this very purpose. People of faith had the ultimate scam ran on them and they welcomed it due to their very faith.
The catholic faith leadership refuses to condemn and excom pols like Pelosi/homosexual pushing followers, The Baptists and other protestant faiths have split 8 ways to Wednesday over political hot issues...
And now, powerless to do anything, their unity broken, the Dem/Libs who engineered it go for the killing blow.
Perhaps if the leaders had stuck to their biblical teachings and held wrong to account, they would not be in a mess of their own making.
And it really upsets me .
I don't see why Bill Gates doesn't get more criticism from the right. He's the one who founded and funds Slate. I think it would be ridiculous to think that it doesn't really reflect Bill Gate's thinking.
They know we will not do anything.
They are in a full court press now that they face the weakest generation the US has yet produced.
They plenty of churches working on their side on that to just outlaw house meetings .(look at other countries and you will see exactly which church is behind that)
