God Has to Be a Personal Being
The Berean Call ^ | Dec 17, 2013 | Dave Hunt

Dec 17 2013

Rejecting the truth God has revealed to everyone, man perverts the witness of creation and conscience and creates his own gods. The very appeal of the “Star Wars Force” or some “higher power” is that a force, being impersonal, cannot hold one morally accountable but, like atomic power, can be used by man to his own ends. Clearly, God has to be a personal Being to create and relate to mankind.

The Bible gives the factual account of Lucifer’s rebellion in heaven itself and how Eve believed the lie that she, too, could become one of the gods. To this day that lie remains the great hope and motivation of mankind. The remainder of the Bible is a recital of the devastating consequences of that rebellion, and the working out of God’s plan to restore mankind into the “new heaven and…new earth” (Rev:21:1) which He has planned in His love and grace.”

We're not that old; not that different from the first man/woman, despite what the revisionists say. We are in a cosmic play/trial, and the performance isn't that long.

I’ve long said that life on earth is just the great cosmic placement test for eternity.

No we are not that different. The revisionists are akin to closet Nazis. They believe themselves as “specially” in tune with “the times”, with “advanced evolved races”, ET like connected people.

These people are completely nuts.

and for all the funny little atheists on Big Bang Theory and other shows, quantum physics and advanced astronomy proves what you say about time and reality…….as science slowly catches up to the Bible...

The Bible gives the factual account of Lucifer’s rebellion in heaven...

Any reference on this? What book/verse?

Why would an omniscient God need to give anyone such a test?

Isaiah 14:
12 How art thou fallen from heaven,
O Lucifer, son of the morning!
how art thou cut down to the ground,
which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart,
I will ascend into heaven,
I will exalt my throne above the stars of God:
I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation,
in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds;
I will be like the most High.
15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell,
to the sides of the pit.

One might argue that in context, Isaiah is referring to the King of Babylon as “Lucifer” ... or warning the King that he is about to suffer Lucifer’s fate.

God is omniscient but still gives us free will to decide whether or not to be part of His kingdom. He loves us enough to allow us to decide whether or not to return that love. He doesn’t force us to do anything. We make the choices but He makes the judgments.

Interesting. Just earlier today I posted a quote from Sir Isaac Newton in reference to the modern day Humanistic science environment.

When presented with the tired, old “You cannot be a scientist if you believe in God.” I simply ask if that means Sir Isaac Newton was not a scientist. I mean, he is considered to be one of, if not the, greatest scientists to ever live.

“Gravity explains the motions of the planets, but it cannot explain who set the planets in motion. God governs all things and knows all that is or can be done”
- Sir Isaac Newton -

But being omniscient God would still know if we would make such a “decision” (not to mention that ostensibly he created us in the first place).

But WE don’t know that. What we need to know is we have a choice to make. God may ultimately know HOW we’ll decide. All WE need to know is that we MUST decide.

I believe God is everything.

But here is a Science Fiction story that often plays in my head. Of course I don’t necessarily believe this, I often ponder on the physics of God.

God is everything and everywhere. He is the Universe from beginning to end. Our souls are part of Universes energy that he has given to us to distill and purify into goodness. When we die, what is good and pure ascends to God and becomes part of Heaven. What is bad descends to Satan and becomes part of Hell. What is grey is mixed back into the energy pool and drawn again for another soul to be born.

Atheists usually reply with "Sir Isaac Newton lived a long time ago so he was a product of his time"....which is sort of like saying that Sir Isaac Newton is dumb.

Yes...atheists who just recently passed high school math think that they are a lot smarter than Newton. It's really pathetic and gets even more pathetic when they can't remember the sentence that they spoke 30 seconds ago.

I have never liked the 'free will' argument mostly because there people who will never learn anything but the lessons taught to them by the corrupt individuals around them. They will end up in hell simply due to bad luck and a bad environment.

If Sasha and Malia Obama grow up to be decent people then maybe I'll buy the statement for once...

Yeah, I know. Catholics call us “Catholic bashers” but are completely oblivious to the fact that they are Protestant bashers.

Our finite minds cannot conceive who or what God really is....

His Word gives us a template to see and understand to a degree....a small one...

"Yes, Isaiah moves from the King of Babylon to direct reference to Lucifer."

Perhaps.
