I agree with you about public nudity tho if it is young hotties doing the nudifications then my disapproval must come with a side order of mixed feelings.
But look at it this way - a woman in a bikini can walk on our beaches in relative safety and a man who approaches her had better have good reason acceptable to her for so doing.
Contrast this with the Muslim world where women are condemned into stiflingly hot burkas to protect Muslim men from the temptations of their sexuality (burkas are NOT about protecting women from `the male gaze’) and even then are subjugated cruelly up to and including rape that requires her producing four male Muslim witnesses that she was unwillingly violated.
Yes, it could said that a Western woman wearing a bikini on the beach is making a statement about personal freedom.
