“Try not being an accuser of the brethren if you don’t know the facts.”

Hmmmm. I see. Do you?

Where did they say America is going?

I have no idea. I just let you know what "SDA" meant. Sorry.

With American Christians constantly asking, “Where is the USA in prophecy? ... it demonstrates a lot of presumptuousness more than anything else.

Take a list of all the countries in the world, from the United Nations membership list for example — and check off each country that you find mentioned directly in the Bible, in relation to these events. Then calculate the percentage mentioned versus the percentage not mentioned. After that, ask “WHY” the USA has to be in the “mentioned” category?

Why are the majority of other nations not mentioned in the Bible? It’s basically because they don’t have any direct relevance or involvement in those events mentioned in the Bible.

Way to take Matt 7 totally out of context.

I agree. That’s why I apologized to the person I was responding to. It was the first thing that hit my mind as I read it, especially seeing as I am an evangelical and it doesn’t apply to me. But unfortunately, I posted it on a site where once you hit the post button, your words are cast in concret.

I.e. we are in agreement that it does not apply.

On my list of 1,000 questions I want answered before I die, this question comes in at 1,001.

I am addressing only the use of terms if contempt such as Amerika.

I believe we join the other side in using their terms and accepting their spirit.

Stop these laughable non-responses. If you have evidence, let’s see it. If not, try this: “I’m sorry. I was wrong”.

Pretty much whenever I make judgements of others I try to be careful to not “judge others”. I’ve learned that until I walk the path of someone else, I have nothing to judge. I’m kinda judging others when I don’t respect their claiming all people who drink alcohol are the “real” sinners, while they sit there asking a small chair to support their 300 lb frame as they light up another of a chain of cigarettes.

We all tend to see the sins of others and ignore our own. The glutton condemns the drinker, the drinker condemns the glutton. The couple that lives together in “serial monogamy” condemns homosexuals that do the same.

Etc...

“I believe we join the other side in using their terms and accepting their spirit.”

So do you still use the term Sodomite rather than homosexual? Or how about Negro rather than black or African American? The list goes on. Amerika is an accurate description of the current state of our country, does not matter where it originated and is a warning to those that care to listen that we are heading down the same path as the USSR did and will met the same fate. But if you want to just ra-ra for the US of A you can “feel” good about it but it is a false perception that allows you to sit there and do nothing while everything goes to hell around you.

Do you know what Christology means as a term, Doctor Thorne?

When we’re talking about Biblical events of prophecy, many take clear statements from it - and roll it into speculation - and say that the combination of both are PROPHETIC and thus Biblical.

CNN doesn’t have the “infallibility” and “inerrancy” of Biblical statements (of which Biblical statements are from God Almighty). Therefore CNN can only go on the basis of VERY FALLIBLE INFORMATION (much of which is purely speculative, and people already know that).

The trouble I’m talking about here on this thread, is mixing the “speculative” with the “infallible” and “inerrant” - and calling the combination of both - “the Word of God”.

If you ask the Muslims they would probably say that America was the beast of rev, in fact i have heard of them saying that very thing.

But i have to disagree because i have the American dream.

Besides i don,t like muslims.

Many people say the whore of Babylon is the churches, i have to disagree because if that were so why would the Churches not teach it to be true.

Woodrow Wilson who was president from 1912 to 1920 said that America at that time was the most regulated nation on earth.
and
“The government, which was designed for the people, has got into the hands of the bosses and their employers, the special interests. An invisible empire has been set up above the forms of democracy.”

Because your premise is wrong that there wasn't theological structure (God implores us to "judge" throughout our relationship with him since the beginning. Secondly, Jesus provided the structure; but structure is lost when a verse is isolated from the context.

Matt 7 is the favorite verse for gays. You see them holding up placards at their parades: You can't judge me is there anthem, and they quote the Bible to justify their sin.

Lastly, humans are distinct from the animal in that we are the only ones that can "think about thinking". Reasoning. Judging. You betcha.

Do a word searching on "judge for yourself" in the Bible, and you will see that it is an impossibility to divorce ourselves from judging.

We are called to judge righteously.

It’s the study of the nature of Christ - a subject Pastor Laurie addresses all through his books and sermons as he supports his ideas with Scripture. Are you going to say something worthwhile or simply play this adolescent game? I’ll check to see if you have replied with anything of substance. If not, this will be my last post. You are becoming tiresome.

I did make mention of the most readily adjacent context, intending that to be tried on for size by the man's here present (on FR) antagonist, narrowly applied to that person's own statements.

Though I doubt there can be enough clarity of thought to accomplish the task...being as distractions such as you mention and went on a bit about, take center stage instead.

That applies to the center stage and the peanut gallery equally, would it not?

The woman is Israel ...

Now, the following is something that I see represents fairly well, what the Bible says about what you just referenced. I have no idea what other topics are valid on that website, but I can say that this particular page is good, overall.

Your reply makes no sense.

I am simply telling you how you will be perceived and perhaps how you yourself have been compromised when using terms of the New Left and other anti-Americans.

I think the key might be Rev. 11:8, where the “great city” is identified as the one where the Lord was slain. In Rev 17:18, Babylon is also called “that great city”. So, to me they are one and the same, Babylon is the future Jerusalem, where the Beast sets up his capital.

Dr.Thorne, it’s better to discuss with a different person than to give up on the thread. The thread is a premill caucus, and that’s because it’s a premill subject. For some reason, some people think that means we should not discuss premillennialist issue, but instead should discuss other doctrines.

“Never make the mistake of believing you are more important than you are.”

Nothing makes the point that the only salvation available for people is from God than making the most powerful country in history irrelevant and unavailable.

This would be consistent with God’s style in His dealings with us.
