You missed my point and his - you are still looking at it as if it was centered on you and it is not.

EVERYTHING is centered on God/Christ.

ALL else is margin - not liberation theology at all.

IMHO, Francis’ economic redistribution sentimentality runs counter to the Tenth Commandment which is not to covet. Covetousness cannot be avoided in socialism.

This naturally leads to an overall increase in bearing false witness, which violates the Ninth Commandment, which just as naturally derives from violation of the Eighth Commandment and its prohibition of direct theft.

Perhaps the Pope needs tend to the plank in his own eye, first.

I’m a bit unclear on how this is about me, specifically. But I dont’t cotton to this form of Christianity. You’re right in that.

Apparently you have missed my point. God is of course the center, but He calls us to union with Him. As you said yourself, you can’t be in two places at once. We are to unite our will to His. Thy Will be done.

Uniting our crosses with His Cross and performing works of mercy for His sake doesn’t necessarily take the form of “feeling like an outcast”. That is a narrow view of discipleship. The conflation of the outcast, the margin with automatic virtue is consistent with liberation theology.

It is not ‘feeling’ like an outcast - in comparison to the power of God you are an outcast as we’ll stated in almost any psalm.

To be otherwise is to set yourself up as being a god.

Think humility.

Well, since "he says what he means and he means what he says", and this is exactly what he said: ""Jesus tells us: ‘if you do not put yourself on the margins, if you don’t feel what it is to be an outcast, you will not obtain salvation.'", I will take him at his word. Do a web search if you want further details of this homily and context for the statement in question. I won't post it, because the confusing statements it contains are not limited to this one.

It is not ‘feeling’ like an outcast - in comparison to the power of God you are an outcast as we’ll stated in almost any psalm.

Well, take it up with the Pope. He is the one being quoted here. Your interpretation of what he meant may or may not be accurate, but it is clear that people reading what he has to say are coming away with differing interpretations.

"As I live, says the Lord, I do not desire the death of the sinner, but rather that he be converted and live" is recited during Prime throughout Lent along with the Psalms. We are sinners, not outcasts.
