Not that I owe you or anyone here an explanation, my faith IS IN JESUS and IN HIS CHURCH which I believe to be the Catholic Church.
Honestly some here truly need to get a life.
One body, the Church.
Kephas in the Aramaic which means rock.
Post #425 for those suffering from short attention span syndrome or have trouble comprehending what they read.
Sorry, but no, it means throwing rock or pebble.
Even in the Greek, it is clear that there are two different kinds of rock, Peter is petros, pebble, and yeshua is Petra, the massive rock.
Hmm....no.
All from the same source who is God, so not different in the sense that seems to be what is meant by your question.
Jesus founded ONE Church, One faith, on ONE Lord. He conferred upon Peter the mission of leading that Church and then gave to him the faith necessary to fulfill that mission. God called him, Jesus redeemed him and the Holy Spirit strengthened him. The Trinity, three in one, different yet the same.
So, yes, I believe that the rock is all three of those things, Christ, Peter’s confession and Peter’s faith.
Yes; that's what your chosen church teachs.
Too bad that Scripture does not record that fact.
Scripture does record that fact. Too bad that so many choose to reject the truth.
Then it's easily shown.
Please do NOT jumble a bunch of verses together; Calvinasaurus-like; to try to prove your point.
Read the original article, after all that is what it is all about and what started this conversation in the first place.
Certainly one can disagree with the Church’s understanding of Scripture, but one cannot argue that the Scriptural evidence has not been given to support the Church’s teaching.
*****Please do NOT jumble a bunch of verses together; Calvinasaurus-like; to try to prove your point.*****
What an absurd thing to say.
Why?
Rome does it all the time...
It’s absurd because Scripture verses that are taken from different books are used together all the time.
I know...
...and stuff taken from visions and experiences are as well.
*****Why is it that Catholics, supposedly so well versed in TRADITION, manage to ADD so many DOs and DON’Ts to the bible?*****
More inanity. The Catholic Church has not added to or removed any of the Bible.
Ok; I'll fix it so you can re-answer...
Why is it that Catholics, supposedly so well versed in TRADITION, manage to ADD so many DOs and DONTs to the bible(s) listing of them?
Maybe you could give me an example of the dos and don’ts to which you want an answer.
You guys spend an awful lot of time; doing things that are not required.
Not required though.
