Gay isn’t spmething you are, it’s something you do.
OK, but part of the problem is that Christian’s let Satan gain a foothold by not using Charity. Someone decided to let the Westboro Baptist Church, later found to be run by an Obama voter, represent Christianity. It didn’t and it doesn’t. There should have been a million Christian voices, extending charity and love, attacking divorce and out of wedlock births, and hammering away on abortion.
What is happening today started at least a century ago, if not further back in US history. A time that most Christians would mark as a golden age. If we cannot do the work of Christ and share his gospel, then we get to the point we’re at, don’t we?
When there are so many homosexuals in one extended family, it is difficult to deny that heredity played some kind of role.
5/13/2013 – Identical Twin Studies Prove Homosexuality Is Not Genetic
Eight major studies of identical twins in Australia, the U.S., and Scandinavia during the last 2 decades all arrive at the same conclusion: gays were not born that way. “At best genetics is a minor factor,” says Dr. Neil Whitehead, PhD. Whitehead worked for the New Zealand government as a scientific researcher for 24 years, then spent 4 years working for the United Nations and International Atomic Energy Agency. Most recently, he serves as a consultant to Japanese universities about the effects of radiation exposure. His PhD is in biochemistry and statistics.
Identical twins have the same genes or DNA. They are nurtured in equal prenatal conditions. If homosexuality is caused by genetics or prenatal conditions and 1 twin is gay, the co-twin should also be gay. “Because they have identical DNA, it ought to be 100%,” Dr. Whitehead notes. But the studies reveal something else. “If an identical twin has same-sex attraction the chances the co-twin has it are only about 11% for men and 14% for women.”
Because identical twins are always genetically identical, homosexuality cannot be genetically dictated. “No-one is born gay,” he notes. “The predominant things that create homosexuality in one identical twin and not in the other have to be post-birth factors.”
Dr. Whitehead believes same-sex attraction (SSA) is caused by “non-shared factors,” things happening to one twin but not the other, or a personal response to an event by 1 of the twins and not the other. For example, 1 twin might have exposure to pornography or sexual abuse, but not the other. One twin may interpret and respond to their family or classroom environment differently than the other. “These individual and idiosyncratic responses to random events and to common environmental factors predominate,” he says.
The 1st very large, reliable study of identical twins was conducted in Australia in 1991, followed by a large U.S. study about 1997. Then Australia and the U.S. conducted more twin studies in 2000, followed by several studies in Scandinavia, according to Dr. Whitehead. “Twin registers are the foundation of modern twin studies. They are now very large, and exist in many countries. A gigantic European twin register with a projected 600,000 members is being organized, but 1 of the largest in use is in Australia, with more than 25,000 twins on the books.”
A significant twin study among adolescents shows an even weaker genetic correlation. In 2002 Bearman and Brueckner studied tens of thousands of adolescent students in the U.S. The same-sex attraction concordance between identical twins was only 7.7% for males and 5.3% for females—lower than the 11% and 14% in the Australian study by Bailey et al conducted in 2000.
In the identical twin studies, Dr. Whitehead has been struck by how fluid and changeable sexual identity can be. “Neutral academic surveys show there is substantial change. About half of the homosexual/bisexual population (in a non-therapeutic environment) moves towards heterosexuality over a lifetime. About 3% of the present heterosexual population once firmly believed themselves to be homosexual or bisexual. Sexual orientation is not set in concrete,” he notes.
Even more remarkable, most of the changes occur without counseling or therapy. “These changes are not therapeutically induced, but happen ‘naturally’ in life, some very quickly,” Dr. Whitehead observes. “Most changes in sexual orientation are towards exclusive heterosexuality.”
Numbers of people who have changed towards exclusive heterosexuality are greater than current numbers of bisexuals and homosexuals combined. In other words, ex-gays outnumber actual gays.
The fluidity is even more pronounced among adolescents, as Bearman and Brueckner’s study demonstrated. “They found that from 16 to 17-years-old, if a person had a romantic attraction to the same sex, almost all had switched 1 year later.”
“The authors were pro-gay and they commented that the only stability was among the heterosexuals, who stayed the same year after year. Adolescents are a special case—generally changing their attractions from year to year.”
Still, many misconceptions persist in the popular culture. Namely, that homosexuality is genetic – so hard-wired into one’s identity that it can’t be changed. “The academics who work in the field are not happy with the portrayals by the media on the subject,” Dr. Whitehead notes. “But they prefer to stick with their academic research and not get involved in the activist side.”

1010RD, I agree with this, but only to a point. Many homosexuals (not all) won't allow themselves to be loved into salvation. Homosexuality is a great delusion, and the ones who are entrenched in their lifestyle are proud of what they do. They don't want to hear about Jesus. IF that's the way they feel, we have to shake the dust from our feet at some point.
We're all sinners, that's true. But I'm not so sure all sins are the same in God's eyes. Homosexuality is singled out as great wickedness, an abomination, etc., and Romans 1 describes God giving them over to their sins. When that happens, there is no reaching them.

I don’t personally believe the girl really is a lesbian. She is very attractive, and she dated men up until the point she suddenly “decided” she preferred women.
I don’t agree that Christians, as the body of Christ to an unsaved world, are ‘letting’ satan get a foothold regarding Homosexual Behavior....I believe that because they are ignorant of Gods Word and are more concerned with ‘social acceptance’ than promoting the truth their testimony has flat-lined as too their ability to discern.
Additionally the world is today being ‘primed for deception’ so it’s been apparent over the past ten years or so that fewer hearts are willing to even hear the Gospel Message. Since it’s God who draws people to Himself, and we’re seeing the opposite today.....the number of people who respond will naturally become less and less. After all He did say “til the “fullness” of the Gentiles are brought in”...which indicates the numbers should lessen as the time draws near for the rest of His plan to be carried out.
HE also said the world would become worse...and men’s hearts grow darker....that is not to say people still won’t come to Christ...but we cannot expect the same atmosphere for presenting the Gospel as once was with the world and society as it is today.

No it’s not...the world around young people today, and adults for that matter greatly influences kids, not to mention the educational system and the changes in our society in what it will accept.....further Homosexuality is not Genetic...That would be like saying the reason there is so much free sex today is heredity.... when in fact it’s been presented as perfectly acceptable to engage in as one determines “they are ready for” rather than the moral issue. The same is now being promoted for homosexuality...”How do you know unless you try and see” statements flood conversations among people.
There are a lot more who are the only homosexuals in their family too. Many or most were molested as youths, which is a much bigger factor.
There is no evidence of it being genetic, but even so - lots of diseases are genetic.
Only a matter of time until “You don’t know your not gay until you try it” is part of the school curriculum and everyone who ever tried it will be counted as gay too.
I tend to think she’s simply enjoying the control and attention she has in the family. Sorry that’s happening....but that’s what happens when children who throw childish fits are catered to....she’s simply doing the same as an adult and the family apparently still sees her as a child that needs to be catered to.
We all have some sort of family issues, but I think the mindset of the generations today are so indoctrinated by the educational system and social indoctrination that there’s little room for what Gods standards are as each makes his own rules of conduct.
I agree...and it’s closer to that now then most realize. I also think it’ll eventually be introduced everyone is Bi-Sexual....that you only lean one way more than the other and thus to determine which way you lean most you have to try both.

As in all things parenting, you have to let your kids make their own decisions but you have to give them as much information as possible in helping them make that decision, including the refuting of the propaganda that they have been fed by the media, the public schools, and their friends.
The problem with parents nowadays is that they think that children possess the necessary knowledge and experience to make informed life decisions such as choosing a minority fringe lifestyle.
The issue is not harm to others but harm to himself, including not only the actual anatomical harm of the acts that gay men engage in, but also the threats of disease that accompany the unregulated promiscuity that exists between men. Then there’s the social stigma that comes by virtue of being in a very small minority, a minority that is deemed by most as abnormal (not to be confused with acceptable).
The cousins are the same generation as my husband, a baby boomer. The culture was no different for them than it was for my husband and I. There was little contact between the different cousins, each family growing up under separate conditions. The children of the one family with only one gay son, claim that their parents were wonderful. You cannot blame this on molestation.
My own son told me the appropriate response if he were to “come out of the closet” would be to beat it out of him.
Even so..homosexuality is not genetic....yet if you consider your statement that they were raised by baby boomers, the sexual revolution era, that could have to do with how they were taught.
Again...most of those who claim to be homosexuals today..aren't...they are simply rebelling and experimenting as their parents did in their era using sex. Unfortunately, as with any vice abused, one can get in so deep they cannot get out without assistance. Sin brings forth death in the end if it's not stopped.
