My husband has a lot of gay cousins. In one family all three children are turned out Gay, one girl and two boys. They are all well respected professionals, but it was not easy, their father never accepted their homosexuality and I think that their mother died before anyone knew. I went to his funeral and all three kids, adults by that time, stood up and told how they loved their father, but did not like him because of his attitude toward homosexuality and all the pain that he caused them. I have never seen anything like it.

Worse even, what if your child is a liberal democrat?!
You know, I have gone through the responses for this article, yet I haven’t seen something I’ve seen before in threads about homosexuality.
On previous threads, I have seen Freepers respond that if their child announced that they were gay, it would be grounds for a beating to within an inch of their life, then immediate expulsion from the house until they prove repentance. I do not remember names or dates, but I know I have seen them.
I am glad that this has NOT appeared.
Gay isn’t spmething you are, it’s something you do.
As in all things parenting, you have to let your kids make their own decisions but you have to give them as much information as possible in helping them make that decision, including the refuting of the propaganda that they have been fed by the media, the public schools, and their friends.
The problem with parents nowadays is that they think that children possess the necessary knowledge and experience to make informed life decisions such as choosing a minority fringe lifestyle.
My own son told me the appropriate response if he were to “come out of the closet” would be to beat it out of him.
