The pressure will now rise, since Anglicans have betrayed Christian tradition and history (again).
Never mind that the Church of England has cobbled up a rite of baptism that omits any reference to the Devil (HERE), now we have this from CNW:
Anglicans in Australia abandon seal of confession for serious crimes
Anglican leaders in Australia have unanimously approved a proposal to abandon the confessional seal, authorizing priests to disclose information about serious crimes such as sexual abuse.
The General Synod in Australia, meeting on July 2, passed an amendment to the Anglican canon on confessional secrecy. The change must now be approved by individual dioceses, but Anglican leaders said that they would press for that approval.
The confessional seal has been a subject of tense political debate in Australia, with Catholic Church leaders insisting that it is inviolable. Their Anglican counterparts approved a proposal that would allow priests to disclose sins if they involved criminal offenses that would carry a penalty of more than five years’ imprisonment, and the penitent had not already confessed to police.
Frankly, we don’t need to care much about what Anglicans do, internally to their ecclesial community (not Church – HERE) since they are just shooting blanks over there on the other side of the Tiber. They do not have valid orders and do not validly absolve or confect the Eucharist.
That said, pressure will now be turned up on Catholics to do the same.

Yeah, ring up 911 and say: "Somebody --- I don't know who--- said he sexually molested children, but I don't know exactly what he did, or to whom, or where, or how long ago."
And that benefits whom?
Or, lastly, just put a wire and a videocam in every Confessional. At which point, nobody goes to Confession.
That solves the problem! --- but only if your problem is with the existence of Catholicism.
First Gay marriage, female clergy, and now this.
What won't they buckle on?
No one is stupid enough to go to confession and confess to a crime. Confession was an invention. How it became a sacrament beats me.

Won’t happen. Automatic excommunication for the priest. I don’t think priests will ever abandon the seal of Confession.
The majority of Anglicans now live in Africa, where their faith is growing by leaps and bounds among a profoundly conservative clergy (disregarding such fools as Bishop Tutu, retired).
And they have had it up to here with the antics of the Church of England, the Episcopalians in North America, and now the Australians.
Apparently, the entire church is moving to schism, with the leftist remnants fading away, dispensing with Christianity altogether.
It has an interesting history going back to the earliest days of the church. Mentioned in the Didache and by Clement of Rome. But I know you will not bother to look it up and educate yourself. Will you.

Confession was the Sacrament that Christ gave to the apostles, saying, while he breathed on them, “Receive the Holy Spirit, whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; who sins you shall hold bound, they are held bound.”

So, any Anglican who has concerns about any possible criminal charges due to his/her confession visit to an Anglican priest will now decide to make his/her confession visit to a Catholic priest. Potential problem solved.
I don’t see where the Vatican needs to waste any time in reconciliation attempts with the Anglican/Episcopal church as that church is in the midst of self destruction.
