This quote betrays the actual view of the Catholic Church: That it is the victims themselves who are to blame. Sort of like the rapist who blames the victim for being too alluring. Sick.
As one who is seriously sruggling with remaining Catholic I ask if the so called leaders of this Church don't recognize pure evil when it's staring them in the face...then what good are they? Why do I need them and why should I place myself in communion with them?

Actually it adds to my struggle. The pope insists on washing muslim feet on Holy Thursday...2 years in a row, he refers to muslims as his ‘brothers and sisters’ and hosts islamic prayers at the Vatican. I believe islam is evil and the product of Satan. the pope seems to think it’s just honky dory.
Always remember that this is the Church and the faith that was left to the Apostles and thence to us. As with any human institution, the humans can be annoying, they can also be saintly. Be the saintly one and you will please God and attract converts. The battle has already been won, we are just here choosing sides.
With this whole new wave of yutes coming in, look for the next wave of accusations in a few years.
We are all sinners. Why would Catholics be better or worse?
The Church fathers know all too well about the evils in front of them, in back of them and all around them. Human nature hasn't changed and never will. They can only deal with individuals.
If it's terrible, damaging news about Catholics of any ilk, or about Evangelicals...we will hear it blasted across the universe.
If it's something good, then we probably won't hear a peep. Our media haven't changed on the way they treat Catholics and Evangelicals.
Also our media, written and electronic lets us know what news they WANT us to know. The mainstream media has always loathed Catholics and Evangelicals. Always.
Honest question: do you really think that changing faiths will suddenly allow you to see a better side of humanity?
Sounds to me as if you are already out the door of the Church and on your way to the local Protestant church.
Well, as a Protestant you won't have to deal with confession, penance, the Holy Eucharist, obligatory Sunday Mass and once-a-year confession and Holy Eucharist.
You can get divorced and remarried ALL YOU WANT. No more rosaries, First Fridays, Benedictions, Sacraments, nuthin' REQUIRED for being a Protestant.
No more Lent, meatless Fridays during Lent. No more popes, cardinals, bishops, priests, nuns and brothers. No more Vatican setters, papal messages, Showing results for encynicals.
I could go on and on about the obligations of being a Catholic but then you already know about them. But because of some sinful clergy you are out the door and giving up the Faith of your Fathers.
Well, you've got all your excuses reasons for dumping the Catholic Church. You can now go right to the Protestant church and be required to do nothing, ever, for any reason.
And when you commit a sin, no matter HOW egregious, all you gotta do is say: "I'm sorry, Lord." And bim sala bim you know that they are forgiven.
Good luck in your new EASY path to the Lord. I'm sure you will enjoy it, especially telling all your future Protestant fellow worshipers ALL ABOUT the horrors of the 2000 year old Roman Catholic Church.
Christmas will still be Christmas. Easter will always be Easter...and you can enjoy them without any nasty ole Roman Catholic "rules and regulations."

If you think an entire faith, Islam, of hundreds of millions of humans is the devil's work, then I don't doubt that you will find BUNCHES of stuff to dislike about ANY faith, Judaism, Christianity AND Islam.

HEY! There is always Hinduism. There are some 300 million different "faces" of God. You could spend LOTS of time THERE losing faith in them.

You don’t and you shouldn't. Salvation is assured through belief in the atoning sacrifice of Christ alone. It is not contingent upon rituals, attendance, or affiliation. Sincerely pray that the Holy Spirit show you all the other errors of the Catholic faith and ask Him to guide you to the truth of a personal relationship with Christ.
Is it any wonder? The Catholic Church says you all serve the same god.

I get it. You're scandalized. We've all been scandalized to a certain degree. What's so special about you? What gives you the right to go all Cindy Sheehan about the Faith? Either you believe or you do not.
I've bounced from parish to parish in my diocese. Going so far as to go to Mass in other dioceses trying to escape the abuses of the novus ordo liturgy. Wasn't conducive to my spirituality. But I never once doubted the validity of the Mass or the confection of the Eucharist.

The pages are too big and numerous to post. I tried to get them all on but the post was too big. So here is the web site that lists the 30,000 Christian denominations. Protestants say there are 40,000 denominations but I went for the "smaller" number.
