The constant smile is downright creepy. Smiling is way overrated, and is never mentioned in scripture as a sign of true happiness or holiness. Rather, laughter is often indicated as a sign of godless derision.

everytime i read or her th biblically light messages from the osteens, these prosperity gospel/word faith folks, all i see is them shouting “money cometh!” like elmer gantry...
Also, the “prosperity gospel” may not play so well in the most impoverished places in Africa. “God wants you to have a Cadillac.” The true gospel can reach people and offer hope anywhere they are in their lives.
The word “blessed” contains the meaning of “happy.” Scripture talks much about being “happy” (Acts 26:2; Rom 14:22; James 5:11; 1 Peter 4:14). If you really study God’s will for his people, you’ll see that man’s happiness is very important to Him.
It is astonishing that you think so little of God that you think he is not interested in your happiness. Yet He sent his Son to give you ALL that He has. We were made in His image - hello? We have feelings of happiness because God made us that way - in His image (1 John 4:17).
I used to think and still do to a certain extent that megachurchs (sp?) and TV evangelists etc were just in it for the bucks.
Today, I may still feel that way to some extent but I also believe if they bring people to Jesus and Christianity then I guess we will find out on the final day how He feels about it.
Right now, with all that is going on with ISIS and Boko Haram and others, I just think all Christians (Catholics, Lutherans, Methodists, Presbyterians, fundamentalists, Baptists and everything in between), Jews (all sects), Hindi (yep, even the cow worshipers, never heard of them beheading anyone) etc all need to stick together and stand up for each other. We can disagree over doctrine and interpretation and this little bit and that little bit and I know sometimes those little bits seem to be giant mountains, but one thing we need to agree on is that ISLAM is the devil.

I know a person that has many of the gay mannerisms and is a committed Christian. The person is also single. And has also stated that “we all have to deny ourselves things if it gets in the way of worshiping God.” The person has never come out and said they were gay, but....

Last night, (6-20-05) Joel and Victoria Osteen were interviewed on CNN by Larry King. Osteen showed clearly why he has the largest church in America. He told everyone, including King, what they wanted to hear. He refused to say that Jesus was the only way to heaven.
KING: Because we’ve had ministers on who said, your record don’t count. You either believe in Christ or you don’t. If you believe in Christ, you are, you are going to heaven. And if you don’t no matter what you’ve done in your life, you ain’t.

The money exchangers are all over the place, that is what they were called in the days of Jesus, I think whores and pimps is a much more suitable word for people who gets rich from the gospel.
Would a real believer sell the Gospel or would they give it away just like Jesus and his apostles did?
what does any one need the books for unless they want a Gospel that can not be found in the Bible?
I can see a non believer who wants to believe something buying one of these books but I can not see a real believer selling one.
